Play time

I don’t mean “play time” like going to the park as a kid I mean – I am going to see RENT tonight!!! I am sooo excited.  I saw the movie when it came out a few years ago and loved it. My friend says that it is 100 times better on stage, so I can’t wait!

So, I have to work through lunch so I can leave on time to get home and make the commute into L.A. with my mom.

dscn6251Breakfast this morning was 2 Kashi waffles with PB&J and a smoothie made with a scoop of protein powder, frozen berries and water.

I am not usually a protein shake kinda girl, but I feel that I’ve been more hungry than usual lately and think I may need to focus on whole foods and more protein. I want to make sure I am getting the right balance of carbs, fat, protein – but I hate keeping meticulous track of these things. Being super aware of everything I eat just takes me back to days when I was constantly dieting/binging/dieting again and I don’t want to go back to that. (Even though I have the blog I really just eat whatever I want and don’t really keep track of it until I look at the pics.)

I have read Runner’s World – Runner’s Diet and basically it says your calories breakdown should look like this :

50% carbs

25% fats

25% protein

I really have no idea how my current diet breaks down since I don’t pay attention to this right now. I am going to try and focus on getting more  (vegetarian) protein and see if that changes how I feel, how I run, my hunger, weight or all of the above.

Run –

I went out to do some “repeats” this morning around a local park, but there was a bunch of construction going on at 2 different places on the sidewalk. I ran around it, but it meant running off the curb and on the grass a few times. There was def a speed bump in my speed work today!

Hi there, just stopping by your blog! Congrats on finishing a marathon – something I am working up to in the not-so-near future. 🙂 I’m also getting married a week after you! Isn’t right now SO hectic with all the planning/details?
