Howdy howdy howdy! Today has been super productive and full of randomness like always. So, now I present my random thoughts on a Tuesday…
I bought two mini watermelons from Costco this week and ate 1 today. One mini-watermelon is 1 serving, right?
And I hate to admit how fast the 5lb container of grapes from Costco disappeared. I’m guess that’s not supposed to be 1 serving?
Lunch was my #2 favorite Lean Cuisine on salad. (Number 1 is pizza, obviously.)
Candy lovers note: This KIND Plus PB Dark Choc bar tastes like a See’s Candy. Pinkie Swear.
The Spirutein lady at the expo (why can’t I remember her name?!) hooked me up with this Raspberry Royale Whey protein too. It’s good, but still not Cherries Jubilee (my one true love).
I don’t think you understand how creamy this stuff is. It’s really like ice cream. I’m buying stock tonight! Or, I’m stocking up. Either way…
It feels weird to wear red on such a Spring-y day. Anyone else feel like dressing in Easter egg colors these days?
Wait. I just checked, Spring doesn’t start until March 20th. You have one week to get ready!
Ask a Monican #32:
Monica from Run Eat Repeat answers…
1. How do you live healthy without making others around you feel like shit if they want to eat Doritos? (or something like that)
2. Should I get my thyroid checked if I can’t lose weight?*
3. My feet hurt when I run outside. What should I do?
*The symptoms of thyroid issues are more than just a stuck scale. If you think something might be wrong with you (in general) please see a doctor (not some random RunEatRepeater).
If you have a question for me email me at runeatrepeat at gmail dot com or leave it in the comments. All questions will remain anonymous unless you specifically say I should mention your name, height, weight, address, if you’re single…

They think one in every seven women have problems with their thyroid, so if you think you do, take the time and see your doctor! The blood test is simple (and quick, unless you are like me and have tiny veins.)

i must say that this topic is interesting.http://www.novelainsensatocoracao.net

I have only been following your blog for a couple of weeks so this is the first video that I have watched here but I love it! I love your blog and always look forward to your next post.

I actually haven’t felt like wearing pastels lately considering it snowed here yesterday! But I am still hoping for Spring to show up eventually.
I had to get tested multiple different times for my doctor to finally accept that I have hypothyroidism. All of the women in my family have it, so why it was so hard, I have no idea. But I’m still trying to get on an effective dosage even after finally being diagnosed. It can be so frustrating!

How cute!! a mini melon!! That should count as 1/2 a serving 😉
RunEatRepeat says
Yes! Half a serving it is!

Adding the KIND bar on my list of things to try. Thanks for the tip! Because I need more chocolate in my life!

Hey! I just came across your blog and added it to my Google Reader–can’t wait to read more! I love running–I did my first marathon in November and am getting ready to do my 5th and 6th halfs in April and May.
Your questions:
1. My friends have never wanted to do anything athletic with me. The only time my best friend did was when she was training for a triathlon last year because her BOYFRIEND wanted to do that. Whatever happened to Ho’s over Bro’s (or something)? They tell me how impressed they are with what I do, but I have never been able to encourage them to exercise in a meaningful way, even if running isn’t their thing. Thankfully one of my friends got a dog, so she is forced to exercise.
My husband and I met at a race (a party run…lots of beer afterwards), so at least I have my bestest friend to do races and run trails with.
I’ve had many people say (as they get their McDonalds out of the work fridge), “you don’t have to worry about what you eat, you’re so skinny!” And I usually tell them that I work really hard to be in the shape that I’m in, including watching what I eat and exercising.
2. The thyroid test is a simple blood test, so it’s worth checking, especially for women.
3. My feet were starting to hurt too and I think I need new sneakers. Inserts help too!

Hi Suzanne! Welcome 🙂

I’m wearing mint green today. Almost wore wedge sandals, but decided to wait until March 20th. They wouldn’t make watermelons in mini unless they were meant to be eaten in one serving! (This coming from the girl that ate an entire bushel of asparagus last night.)
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I’ve never tried the KIND bars and they always look so good…but something that tastes like a candy bar is RIGHT up my alley! 😉
Eating as a Path to Yoga says
I love the apricot KIND bars!!! Also, for the record, I’ve lost 60 pounds once my hypothyroidism was under control. It IS possible!!!
runeatrepeat says
That is hopeful news!

I can’t wait until watermelon is in season during the summer here – I think I can eat my weight in watermelon! Love your videos!

I started having thyroid issues 2.5 years ago. My symptoms were extreme loss of energy and random patches of dry skin. I still know when my thyroid is off because my elbows and chin get dry.
Amy says
Loved your thyroid issue answer! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 15, and I had about 10 other symptoms besides the obvious and drastic weight gain including ice-cold hands and feet.
Serena says
Servings don’t count with fruit.
JessicE says
I agree with this! Or vegetables. I mean, I know a calorie is a calorie, but I have never done any harm to my weight or body with eating lots of fruits and veggies as long as I don’t eat too much of the other stuff. 🙂
Well… maybe servings count with potatoes… i love them too much. 😀
