Frequently Asked Questions – Run Fit Challenge:
Q: What is the refund policy?
A: Due to the digital nature of this product (you receive a pdf of Workbook immediately) – there are NO REFUNDS.
Q: How long do I have access to the challenge materials?
A: The Run Fit Challenge Workbook is yours to keep. As of right now, The Run Club Community will close when the challenge is complete. Depending on the community it may transition into another type of community tbd.
Q: What if I’m not on Facebook?
A: The Virtual Run Club Community is a closed Facebook group so you won’t be able to interact with the community. But – we are trying to set up the 2x weekly Pep Talks and Huddles via Zoom so you’ll be able to watch those.
Q: Can I purchase one-on-one running coach services with Monica?
A: I’d love to! But, I don’t have the time for coaching runners one on one right now. Coaching calls will be made available for purchase soon.
Q: How long is the challenge?
A: The Challenge runs – 12 Weeks from January 17-April 10.
Q: I’m a new runner… what if I can’t keep up?
A: You run your pace! You can Run/Walk the running workouts or completely walk them until you are ready to run. And if it’s super challenging for you – repeat a week until you feel ready to move on to the next.
Q: I used to run a lot but took some time off & am looking to get back to it. Is this plan right for me?
A: Yes! My friend Kristen has run tons of fast half and full marathons. Due to an injury and life in general she hasn’t run in months. But she joined the challenge to get back on the running wagon!
Q: My gym is closed right now & I need to workout at home. Can I use this in place of gym workouts?
A: Yes! You don’t need any equipment or access to a gym. There are 4 ‘Running for Fitness’ plans you can follow if you mainly want an exercise routine to follow. It’s a combination of cardio (running) and toning (strength & conditioning).
And the Virtual Run Club Community will give ya that group support of gym buddies.
Q: I want to lose weight. Is this a weight loss plan?
A: This program is based on running, strength & conditioning and community support. It’s not specifically a weight loss or diet plan. If your goal is weight loss – Yes, running is a great way to burn calories. I started running to lose weight & it worked!
But long term healthy weight loss often requires sustainable changes to your diet and exercise routine. This program is about your exercise routine. The challenge workbook includes a weekly meal planner you can use to support a healthy diet, but that’s up to you.
Q: Can I run on the treadmill?
A: Yes.
Q: I don’t have a GPS running watch – do I need one?
A: No. You can do this challenge without a running watch. If you want to track your running distance there are plenty of free apps you can use. You can also track you runs based on time using the stopwatch feature on your phone.
Q: How does the Virtual Race work?
A: The grand finale of this challenge is a Virtual Race – 5K / 10K / Half Marathon! It will be the week of April 11th. Since it’s a virtual race you have a week to run your race.
- Registration will open in February.
- You’ll get a cute race medal, bib and t-shirt!
- It’s an additional fee (not included in the challenge).
- You run your race where you live & report in your results.
- It’s completely optional.
More information on the Virtual Race coming first week of February. I’ll run through everything you need to know if this is your first virtual race.
Q: Can I use this plan to train for a 10K race I’m registered to run in May?
A: Yes! You can use the challenge plan and community to help guide you through training for a 5K, 10K or half marathon and then run an in person race in late April or May!
Q: Can I share my plan with a friend?
A: I’d love for you to invite friends to join the challenge here: https://runeatrepeat.com/run-fit-challenge/
But you CANNOT share the Workbook or Running Plans with anyone. No information from the challenge is to be copied, shared or distributed in any way.
Q: Can I share my plan with an enemy?
A: I’d love for you to invite any and all of your enemies to join the challenge here: https://runeatrepeat.com/run-fit-challenge/
But you CANNOT share the Workbook or Running Plans with anyone. No information from the challenge is to be copied, shared or distributed in any way.
Q: I want to train for a full marathon. Is this challenge right for me?
A: The challenge will guide you through a 12 week program featuring running + strength & conditioning workouts. PLUS there are weekly coaching huddles packed with important information for runners. So it’s a great foundation for someone who wants to run a half marathon in April – May – June and then train for a Fall full marathon.
But – the challenge does NOT have a full marathon training program as one of the running plans. This is mainly because it takes longer than 12 weeks to prepare for a full marathon.
Q: What if I’m scared??
A: Join us! I’m scared of everything – maybe we can bond over it…
Q: I’m coming back from an injury… can I do the challenge?
A: You should check with your doctor before starting this program. Please be sure you’re cleared for all exercise without any restrictions before joining.
Q: I hate having fun. Is this challenge right for me?
A: Hmmmm… It’s a really great challenge but you might accidentally have fun – so you might want to skip it.
Q: What equipment do I need?
A: You really only need running shoes and maybe some safety gear (like a light and ID) to start running today.
You DO NOT need any weights or bands for the strength and conditioning workouts. A yoga mat and towel will make it easier to do the workouts, but they are not required.
