Runners Unite!
I saw on twitter that runners are encouraged to unite in support of the victims of the Boston Marathon explosion and wear a race or running shirt tomorrow. Just thought I’d share the message…

I really like the shirt! And love that you spelled “heroes” correctly on the ones you listed 🙂

I wore my John Bingham shirt: “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.” This is the shirt that I wore in 2010 when I did the MCM. #prayforboston

I wore navy and yellow today in honor of the Boston Marathon!

Thanks for posting! I’m wearing my 26.2 shirt today.
Me and a bunch of the Chicago Running Bloggers are planning a 5K run for charity on June 15 in conjunction with Muddy Monk. We’re working on the details, but 100 percent of the fees collected will go to charity. We’ve set up a Facebook page to keep people updated until we can get the Web site live later this week: https://www.facebook.com/RunForBoston5k

Rocking my race shirt for all those in Boston! Proud to support this community.

Got mine on! On campus today, I counted over 20 students with race shirts on on my way to class. Even from Iowa, we’re showing our support.

I wish I had a running/race shirt to wear in this memorial moment. Soon I will have something to sport, but for now I just remember what am thankful that there were more survivors than fatalities and that my prayers are stronger to those who have lost somebody yesterday, but are extended to the ones who will suffer through the after affects of the care required to get through it all and back on the horse.

Will do! Glad to see more support for the events that happened yesterday. Stay up!

Wearing mine now. Big Sur was the race when I first really thought about the Boston race. Run in both marathons and get a medal?? That would be a fun thing to try. I wear my blue and yellow Big Sur race shirt with more love than ever today.

Sporting a shirt, Run DC headband and went for a 5 mile run today. Ran for Boston this morning and the victims. The events yesterday have only encouraged me to train harder.

I don’t have any race shirts, but you better believe I’ll be running for every single one of those people involved. I’m sorry, Boston 🙁

Thank you for doing this. This was my first marathon, and I had less than a mile left when the bombs went off. A wave of pure terror came over me knowing that my husband and my friends were waiting for me on Boylston Street. It was through the kindness of strangers that I was able to finally get inside and use a land line to call them. I witnessed so many people rising to the occasion yesterday- people coming out of their homes to hand out trash bags and coats to runners; the medical staff, firefighters and police who ran TOWARDS the explosion to help others. All of those people, no matter how big/small their act of kindness was, are true heroes. Everyone I know is OK but my heart breaks for the families of those who were not. That is all I can say about how I and most of Boston feels today. Heartbroken.

I am so glad that you and your family are safe. The one thought that keeps going through my head is that no matter who did this or what their motives might be… Goodness, kindness, love and faith were seen all around yesterday. The volunteers, spectators, runners and emergency personnel jumped into action and began helping those that were injured. The wonderful acts of kindness are a testimony to us and should be the loudest message to be heard. God’s love is everywhere even in the midst of such a horrific act. (sorry I just had to share)

Glad you’re okay! Stay safe <3

Mine will be on under my scrubs today!

I came across your blog after finishing the LA Marathon last month and spent a fair amount of time reading your posts in the following week. After hearing about Boston today, I was really hoping you weren’t there and we’re safe. Glad to see you are!
Stacey says
I told my store manager I was wearing a race shirt tomorrow, and he said no worries that’s a nice gesture! Too cool!
Mary says
This is a really nice idea. I won’t be allowed to wear a running top at work today but will change as soon as I return home and will look to take some running accessories to work instead – camelback instead of school bag, drinks bottle instead of glass, etc to still show my support.
Sue says
I’ll be wearing one tomorrow

Yes we are! Just tweeted it a bit ago. Very unfortunate to have these types of things happen.
