Happy New Year!!!! I am so ready for a new year and a fresh start. How ‘bout you?
Last night we kept it low key because everyone is sick (not it!). But we were able to enjoy some pink sparkling wine and AB&J sandwiches grilled over a fire.
This morning I did a 10 mile run while thinking about my new year’s resolutions and running goals.
Sadly I didn’t hit all my 2015 goals. I wanted to:
PR in the Marathon – nope. Sadly I didn’t even come close. But I didn’t train for it either. I was really just running for mental health when and how much I needed last year.
Stop drinking diet soda and cut back on gum. I stopped buying diet soda to have at home, but still enjoy it when I’m away.
Read the Bible cover to cover – nope. But I did attend Bible study and got a lot stronger in my faith this year. God is awesome.
Be happy and grateful – YES. This year has taught me a lot about love and relationships and faith and friendship. I am thankful for all my blessings every single day. Even on the worst day I am so very lucky and blessed and grateful.
My 2016 Goals:
1. Run 2016 miles. Yes, I want to run the year!
2. PR in the marathon. I just have to go all out and get comfortable being uncomfortable running.
3. Get on a budget and save 20% of my income.
4. TBD I’m thinking about spending more time with the people I love. They are kinda great.

Love your goals! I want to run more and also pursue other avenues of fitness (running is pretty much the only thing I’ve been doing). I also want to practice daily gratitude. Just a note: I tried to give up diet soda last year and I ended up gaining weight because I was replacing it with food (I guess the way smokers do). Hope that doesn’t happen to you! Good luck with your goals!

Goals: PR in the half marathon and run more smaller races! Others are still fairly undefined.

I’d like to be a little more relaxed with my calendar. It causes me so much anxiety when I look and see I’m busy every weekend in a month and I worry I’ll burn out. But every year somehow I get through all 52 weeks just fine. So why am I worrying?
And then there’s the usual….drink more water and eat less sugar. Ha! They’re the hardest ones to stick to ever…

Our big goal is to pay off our car and start saving again. We’ve had so many ups and downs over the past year, even 2 years. And my husband has been working his butt off for a job as a concept artist, so we’re hoping and praying it happens soon!

Such great goals, i need to get on that budget thing again… or to start. I want to start training to get a PR but I think realistically I won’t PR until 2017, but I can sure as hell try!

Those sound like great goals. FYI I did the Bible one by listening to the audio on the Bible app on my phone. It was much more approachable that way…
Happy 2016!

I am going to be grateful for 365 days. I am starting a journal and writing three things each day. Hoping to change my outlook on life because 2015 left me a bit jaded.

Great goals! I’m goaling to run an ultra in the mountains and write nice yelp reviews when I have good experiences.

Happy New Year Monica!
Would love some ideas as to how to cut back on the diet soda. That is practically the only thing I drink. Drinking water is very hard for me.
Thank you!

Run my first marathon, finish my grad school application, get into graduate school and several others.
Unsolicited advice: I downloaded the Bible app and before I check social media or head out to run or brush my teeth I read the daily verse. It’s not reading cover to cover and doesn’t replace some good Bible study but it helps me focus on something positive first thing.

Goals!! Indeed!! I want to finish my degree. I’m behind and I need to get on it. Bench press 100 lbs. I’m kind of stuck at 85 and 100 feels like it’s unreachable. Increase my cycling speed from 15 – 18 MPH to 17 – 19 MPH and to read the Bible more often. My goal with the Bible is read all of PSALMS and the New Testament. Looking at 3 – 4 chapters per week, more if the chapters are short.
Gave your IG account a little shout out today. 🙂 I love your blog and IG pictures. You inspire me.
