Running Key

Turns out today’s dentist appointment won’t be my last. They only put in a temporary crown today and I’ll be back in 2 weeks. Fun.www.toothpastefordinner.com

When I got home I decided to go for an easy 3 miler to get my thoughts in order. I can’t do late runs anymore though – it’s getting way too hot here for that!

Before I left I tied my key into my laces. I used to have a shoe pocket, but that could bounce around if there is too much in it OR one lonely key can fall out. So, now I have a specific key with my running gear and tie it into my laces. No fancy shoe pocket needed!IMG_0020 (600x800)

Post-run I treated myself to a Sonic bucket ‘o drink. Love. Then, I drank some of Ben’s. IMG_0022 (600x800)Heard of Man versus Food? manvfoodWell, I should be in “Woman versus Drinks”monica with a drink

Lunch was a simple Egg Salad sandwich and salad.IMG_0024 (800x600)

Eaten outside with a date Smile Why he took the pink placemat I’ll never know.IMG_0027 (800x600)

Question: What do you do with your keys when you go for a run or walk or bike?

I have an ifitness belt that I put my key and phone in. I never even need my phone but I’m afraid to run without it, in case I sprain my ankle or something and I am stranded lol

      Love the shoe idea!
I prefer to wear mine around my neck and tuck it under my braw strap so it wont bounce around.

I always slide my key into the pocket on my MP3 player case. But it’s just another reason I prefer to work out in a gym. I never have to think ahead that way 🙂

I do the same thing with my keys ( it’s annoying having two separate keys to my apartment cause I have to tie a key to each shoe…quite the ordeal lol) one time I decided to go for a quick run right before I was supposed to turn in a final paper and I must have tied my key on wrong cause when I got home I looked down at my shoe and it was gone. I even re-ran my route and couldn’t find it. I had to buzz someone in the building that I didn’t know to let me in and asked to use their computer to email my professor to tell him what happened lol lesson of the story, I always check to make sure the keys are properly tied on the laces 🙂

I have a single key, too, that I usually keep in my inside pocket on my running tights. If I’m out for longer runs or I’m not wearing my long tights, I either carry my full set of keys, or wear my spibelt!

I usually put my key in my mini pocket of my lululemon pants. I like to think that’s what the pocket is there for.

If I’ve driven somewhere to run, I tie my car key to my shoe; if I’m running around my house, I just leave my door unlocked. No one wants my stuff, so I don’t worry about it too much.

I hide them on our back porch under a very dirty towel that is out there that we always use to wipe down the outside table quickly. No stranger is going to touch that nasty towel! 🙂

I do the exact same as you! I love the shoelace trick. I’ve got running belts and shorts with pockets but always resort to the shoe. You can double knot it and always look down to make sure it’s still there 😉

      Great blog by the way!

First, I’m a new follower and I really enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for entertaining me :o)
I’ve tried many ways to keep my keys with my when running and I finally found and bought an ifitness belt. I love that I can fit my cell phone in it too. Having my phone with me just makes me feel safer when running alone. Perhaps I’m paranoid. Check it out…

I usually put my keys in my short’s pocket. But i get paranoid that they’ll fall out and end up looking like a weirdo b/c i keep touching said pocket to make sure the keys are still there! I love my capris that have a zippered pocket in the back.

Well right now my school ID gets me into my apartment so I use my sportsbra as a pocket for it… hello square boob syndrome HA.

Good luck with the dentist sorry its taking so long that is sucky.

I would do that with my key too; just lace it onto my shoe. Now, I have a pair of shorts that have a little pocket in the back that my keys fit in perfectly. And I jingle, so you always now when I’m coming. 😛

I feel your pain for the root canal, but I’ve gotta say, tooth doctor > female doctor. If I had a bucket of ice cream I would have buried my face in it today.

As for my keys, I safety pin them into my shorts or on my underwear..works every time!

I live in Leave it to Beaver-ville, so I actually don’t lock my house when I leave for a run. When I drive somewhere to run, I put my key in my water bottle pouch thingy.

When I go running, I tie my house key onto a hair tie, like knot it on, and then wear that on my wrist.

I hold them in my hands unless I have a camelbak or water bottle with me. I’ve gotten so used to it I feel naked without holding something.

I just hold my keys in my hand, but if I’m holding a water bottle or something, I’ve stuck them in my bra before 🙂

Awesome idea with the key! It always bugs me where to put my keys as they are on a keyring with my car key and about a million other keys. So i have them in my pocket and get seriously annoyed! I’m not a runner though (at the mo) so not a massive problem but when I go for my walks I’ll be doing this!

I hope your tooth is feeling better! I either put my keys into the butt pocket of my running capris, or in my iPod arm holder, or loop them around my finger and squish them in my palm. I would love to get one of those little pouches that sticks onto shoelaces and keeps your keys for you. Have a great Wednesday!
