Don’t you hate it when you’re in a rush in the morning. I dashed out the door feeling like I was forgetting something. I hate that! But, it was completely my fault because I chose not to make lunches the night before and I overslept on my alarm. The combination made for a frantic morning!
Today was a Rest Day so I did some strength moves in my front room and then took a short walk 🙂
I made a Green Monster to drink on the road –
And made Almond Butter and Jelly toast at work. That piece taken out of the jelly toast was ripped out because it had some weird white powder on it. It wasn’t mold, but it might have been poison. If I don’t post again today call 911.
Only 9 days until we head to Belize for our Honeymoon!!! We don’t even have reservations for the second half of our trip – I need to get on that?
Question: What do you do to make sure you’re not going to have a crazy Rushed Morning???
Normally, I make our lunches the night before or set my alarm for early enough to get everything done!
In Running News –
The Inaugrual Santa Barbara International Marathon will be held on December 6th. I miss California…

I don’t know what my new routine will be like since I am going back to school. But when I was working, I would make my lunch and pack my gym bag the night before. I had to because I got up at 4:00 so that I was at the gym at 5! I’d rather get up really early than feel rushed.

I find that white shtuff on my bread sometimes, too. I tell myslef it’s just flour??

Rushed filled mornings stress me out. To make sure I don’t have one, I always allow myself plenty of time in the mornings to get stuff done.

To save myself from being rushed I make sure I get up earlier – giving myself more time than I think I am going to need.
I also make sure I do as much prep as possible the night before.

I pack my bag for work the night before, although not always my food. I lay out my running clothes and work clothes (sometimes even sleep in my running clothes). We have too many ants so I can’t set up the coffeemaker the night before but I’ve trained my body to go straight to the coffeemaker when I come home from a run and get it started before I take a shower.
None of my efforts really matter though, since my husband is always late and we ride to work together.

Nicci – 3 alarms! I may need that for Ben 🙂

I do the same things you do like preparing my lunch the night before, etc…I also lay out my workout clothes and work clothes for the next day. I put everything I’ll need to make breakfast the next morning (except for the food) on the counter and my coffee pot has a timer on it.
They’re little things, but the seconds add up.
Your trip sounds glorious!

I set 3 alarms, so that I don’t over sleep. And pack lunches at night.

Hey Monica,
I too have been reading your blog for awhile but never commented. I love your sense of humor, it makes me chuckle every day.
To answer your question, I feel like I am always rushed every morning. No matter how much time I give myself. If I see I have an extra 5 minutes I end up doing something random that makes me late. So annoying.. haha!
Oh and I heard Belize is GORGOUS!!! It is worth the wait.
