SpaWeek Discounts and I got an Oxygen Facial!

Healthy Living

24 Jun

Hello! How are you doing this week? I woke up with my legs already tired – not a good sign. So I dealt with it by laying on the floor dramatically. Be glad you don’t have to live with me – Vegas is pretty sick of my antics (but is luckily too lazy to leave me).

my life in one picture (800x450)

I went for a run and then came back to grab some food and take a quick shower because I had a happy appointment. Yesterday I had an appointment to get some blood work done to follow up on my thyroid stuff.

But today’s appointment was for a fancy facial! Even though I may have one (big) foot in the girly camp because I get my nails done and get massages, I rarely get facials! I kind of feel like they hurt or I end up all red after. I’m happy to report this was super relaxing and felt great!

I was invited to get an Oxygen Facial at the OC Facial Care Center because they are running some awesome specials for Spa Week. They are featuring two of their signature services for only $50.00! That’s over half off the price.

Sandra walked me through all the steps as she did them when I had questions. After cleansing and pre-treatment she put a pumpkin mask on my face that smelled sooooo good (like pumpkin pie). I regret not tasting it…

(Not so fun fact: Sandra could not get the headband to fit on my HUGE head and had to go get another one that was bigger. I this she just ended up using a sheet. I am big headed.)

The next step (after taking off the mask) was this little wand machine that blew oxygen onto your skin. It’s supposed to get really in there and help plump it up and make you look fresh faced and dewy.

I took a picture immediately after to show I wasn’t red or blotchy at all (that could also be because they didn’t do extractions, but still that is the worst to be all red).

And I took a closer one when I got home to show my make-up free face right after the facial.

Overall: It was so relaxing on my end and I got my face cleaned and spiffed up as a super bonus! All the cleansers and lotions they used smelled wonderful too. I wasn’t red at after which makes me super happy.

I totally want a piece of pumpkin pie now, YUM!

I’m in between-I love to have my nails done, like having my hair done-most of the time. Yesterday-not so much-it’s hot here and to sit under the dryer and then have hair blow dried was like torture! I feel like I should count it as a light workout because I was sweating! I’m on the fence about massages-I get relaxed just as they are ending and no to pedicures-don’t like people touching my feet!

I’ve always been a bit of a Tom boy but I do love dressing up, as long as I don’t have to wear heels! I have a big head too – i think it’s from all the hair.

I am the worst in heels. Unless I’m drunk… then I think I can walk (even if I can’t).

haha I am more girl-y but definitely on the middle of the spectrum! I love painting my nails and facials but I hate putting on makeup or watching rom coms!

I want a piece of pumpkin pie!!! I also want a facial. You really didn’t go red, which is pretty impressive (if you’re anything like me – also a redhead).

Yes, I normally get so super red I can’t do anything but go home after a facial. This was a good one!

I go for regular facials (yeah, the ones with the extraction) – my fav part would be the facial masssage before they put the mask on you. I’m ok with extractions – I feel better knowing they got the “gunk” out; the redness goes away in an hour or so.

Stop promoting gender stereotypes, Monica 😉

I love pumpkin, I do, but I am (for some reason) super strict about it being a fall food. It’s too bad, really.

I am totally in between. Most of the time I am boyyy buy I just scored a sexy hot dress to wear when I go to Jamaica and I kinda can’t wait to get dolled up. 🙂

Mmm, love pumpkin spice stuff. I would have wanted to taste it too. 🙂

I like girly clothes but as for spa stuff… I’ve never had a mani, pedi, facial, etc. Best I get is a massage every once in a while.

I feel like I’m the opposite, I don’t like (or know how) to dress girly but I love a pedicure.
