Hello! I am really enjoying these coolish SoCal mornings. I’ve been trying to run before it gets super hot. That’s not easy with all the distractions on social media. You guys need to be less fun and entertaining so I can get out the door!
(Cool mornings are a benefit to not having humidity. Hint hint anyone who wants me to hang out in humid places, just saying.)
Then, I did the usual breakfast thing….
Today I’m sharing a very cool sweepstakes from the FUTURO™ Brand.I worked when with them previously here highlighting some of their amazing FUTURO™ Graduated Compression Legwear on some of their Stand Strong Legwear. I found by wearing FUTURO™ Legwear I had reduced swelling and improved circulation, in addition to massaging my tired and achy legs as I moved. The legwear really does help keep me energized and comfortable all day.
I’m standing nice and jittery and super caffeinated because I’m sipping a lot of iced coffee while working at my new standing desk. I’m pretty excited about it (see: weird dance in video before I realized the camera was rolling).
(Note I got the standing desk on Groupon.)

Question: How much of your day is spent sitting? How much is spent standing?
I have had a standing desk for a long time, this is just a new one. I alternate standing up and sitting down throughout the day. I mostly sit on days I run a lot.
Disclaimer: This post is in collaboration with the FUTURO™ Brand. All opinions are my own.

I work in an office so a lot of sitting down; however the tea and coffee are in the kitchen in the basement so I’m up and down the stairs quite a lot during the day.
Other than that, I walk to/from work so that’s about an hour of walking plus gym/outside run every other day. I’d say I’m fairly active, but definitely feel the need to move after long work days.
Stephanie says
I work part time but my job requires some driving. Other than that I am pretty active.
Jill @ Champagne for Everyday says
We could all use a little more standing time! A standing desk is a great idea. Great post!

such funny timing– i JUST turned my desk into a standing desk this week! (I have an ikea desk with adjustable legs, so I put it as tall as it can be) I feel SO MUCH MORE PRODUCTIVE standing all day rather than sitting. It’s insane. And I know it’s healthier, so added bonus 🙂

I spend a good 10 hours a day sitting. I had a standing desk at work once because of my piriformis syndrome. I had to get a doctor’s note and my job paid for it! I’d love to have one again since I’m at my desk all day long!
Deb says
I sit all day 🙁 I try and get up and walk around for a few minutes hourly, but sometimes I get so involved with reading blogs…I mean work, that I forget. Thank goodness for running!
PS – I liked your dance and I miss seeing Vegas. I’m sure he would have been willing to dance with you, unless he was napping at the time.
runeatrepeat says
I know! I just realized Vegas has been MIA and I need to do more videos!

I try to remind myself to stand more. I think it’s half and half now with a lot of running and walking. Pretty good.

I sit for most of my day. I have a sit/stand station at work, but need to get better about using it. I’m also in meetings a lot, which are difficult to do standing if everyone else is sitting! I have great office mates, though, who take periodic breaks during the day with me to stretch, walk, or do simple strength exercises to stay active. 🙂
Amber @ Awakened Nutrition says
Girl your desk sounds awesome!! I find myself sitting at a desk more and more these days. I need to get one of these!
tiffany says
i need to remember that working out does not make up for all my sitting! i do sit more than i would like.
Liz says
I sit for at least 13 waking hours a day. a fulltime desk job plus online grad school = no bueno!
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I’m so motivated at the gym but at home I’m super lazy. I’d say I spend half the day standing and half sitting. 🙂
Elizabeth Beil says
What a cool giveaway! I sit and stand. Working at a running store I can be on my feet for some of the day and then sitting the rest depends on what I need to get done!
Sarah @ Live Run Eat says
I sit ALL day at work! A stand up desk would be so awesome, but not part of our company’s standards yet.
Angie says
Too much of my day is spent sitting, I need to work on that!
We recently got a tall, long table with cubby’s from IKEA for my home office. I love it for standing but also got a tall chair to have somewhere different to work if I want.
Your standing desk looks nice too.
Beks says
I was just considering that a standing desk would be better for me. I’m having back problems, probably from sitting all day, but I work in an office, and we don’t have standing desks available. Pity.
