Starbucks Oatmeal Review

Uncategorized

Normally when I am on a trip I pack breakfast foods since I am a cereal or oatmeal girl not really eggs or restaurant breakfasts.

When I pack oatmeal I make hot water with the coffee maker and mix it with oatmeal packets.

When I pack cereal I buy a non-fat milk from Starbucks (or wherever) and pour the cereal right into the cup.

I packed cereal since it had been so warm I thought it would be fine. Well, it was freezing in the morning in Paso Robles! So, I decided to ditch the cold cereal and tried the oatmeal from Starbucks.

Starbucks oatmeal comes in a cute little papper cup. They offer 3 toppings: brown sugar, nuts and dried fruit. I chose all 3.

foodies-746I think the oatmeal was too watery and not creamy at all. I make my oatmeal with half milk (or milk sub) and half water and a sliced up naner – it is so much creamier that way. This, in comparison, is a disappointment. I didn’t like this oatmeal at all – even with all the toppings mixed in. Cindy likes it, but she doesn’t know good oatmeal. Cin, come over my place and I’ll make you some of the good stuff!foodies-744

Thanks for the review; I was afraid to get it because it’s pretty pricey. They have really cute packaging though! 🙂

Marafaye, true that it’s better than McDonalds. If I get it again I will def ask for less water and put some milk in.

Hangry – I bet the oatmeal you make is ten times better

I guess in a pinch this wouldbe ok, but I’d much rather just make my own!

Hey, i know good oatmeal… i think the starbucks oatmeal is a great THOUGHT, but it could be better. If I get it, I ask for not too much water, then put some milk from the condiment bar in it. Its not fab, but its better than McDonalds!
