Sunday Set Up Start 10K Training

Hello! How was your weekend?

I just chilled.

chillin

Saturday involved running and eating, per usual.

And Sunday involved me waking up at a ridiculous hour and not being able to go back to sleep Sad smile

So, I decided just to get up and clean. Sounds less-than-awesome, but I’m actually really proud of everything I got accomplished!

watching tv and cleaning 2 (600x800)

There is one #Fail realization I had today though = I bought a new duvet cover because I needed a change and thought this blue one was kinda fun/nautical. However, I only had it on the bed for 24 hours and it was COVERED in Vegas’ cat hair.

this was a bad idea (800x600)

When the sun was finally up I went for my traditional Sunday morning walk. It’s not as fun when I don’t walk to get coffee but it’s still very relaxing.

palm trees (600x800)

After my cleaning extravaganza I got ready for the day. I’m still obsessed with my new StitchFix dress.

Please tell me where you got that gum. I have a serious gum addiction. Like no shhh 6 pieces a day on the days I cut back. I know. Super gross. But I need a new flavor. And I love extra. Im always hoping they make a cupcake kind. The cinnamon roll kind was kinda nice. And then I ate a whole pack in one day and had the squirts if you catch my not so nice smelling drift. Anyhow Ill be waiting impatiently for your gum guidance.

The Dodgers Foundation 5k on Sunday! Super fun for this Dodger girl. 🙂
But sitting near the Malibu Pier with my sisters and daughter watching my son body surf for 45 minutes was pure bliss! It was a little crazy getting there, but he just had the bug in his cap that he HAD to go to the beach (he’s 13). He just played in those waves non-stop and we had to drag him out to get to our dinner reservation at Duke’s in time. We were celebrating his birthday with my family.
Crazy, busy weekend, but really can’t top stuff like this ^^^; God is so good!

      Have a great week, Monica!

Best thing I did was run the Rock and Roll Half in Philadelphia! Didn’t feel like the best at the time, but it’s definitely great now. Best thing I ate would have had to have been the food at the wedding I went to on Friday….stations of food that people actually WANT to eat! Fajitas, mini grilled cheese, pasta and salad….so awesome!

My weekend involved my first post-marathon running! I waited two weeks to run again (because I’m lazy), but then remembered that running is really fun, so I’m ready to be done being lazy.

Also: Pumpkin spice gum = BLECH!

Poutine! I’d never tried it before but we went to a bar to watch football and my guy suggested it…fries – good…cheese – good…brown gravy….good. Thanks Canada! 🙂 haha

Haha! I had that same #Fail realization when I bought navy bathroom rugs, only to find them completely covered in my dog’s white fur within hours of bringing them home. I also don’t buy black sweaters anymore. Fur has come to rule nearly all of my purchases now.

The best thing I did all weekend was go to Music Midtown, a music festival in the park right behind where I live. I got to see a ton of great acts and the weather was perfect! The best thing I ate was that box of Ritz Bits when I got home Friday night. It’s ok, though, because they were the Trader Joe’s organic cheese ones. Healthy choices, am I right?

Um ok where do I start. This blog post (http://dasherlife.com/lorne-sunshine/) pretty much sums it all up, but there’s the most amazing pizza place down the Great Ocean Road in Lorne and I just couldn’t stay away this weekend! DELISH! Also starting to train for my 10km in 3 weeks time – I was going to do the marathon but injury has prevented me from doing so. This week is the start of INTERVALS! 🙂

Um…I love that I started the training plan on Sunday. Rest says rock!! Haha!

      The best things-
Food wise was Tex Mex with my sis!
Non food wise was the completion of my new, fancy Ikea PAX closet system. Oh my word…organization is awesome!

They really do make pumpkin everything I guess. My weekend was full of group fitness and fun. The best part was a fancy dinner with my husband in downtown San Francisco. We started our meal with some of the best steak tartare and enjoyed live jazz music. The rest of the meal was great too — pretty much an ideal Saturday night in my book. And now, getting ready for another week. Have a good one!

Dumb questions. I’ve been injured all year. The doctor just released me to do elliotical “running” and power walks. If I’m training for a 10k, do I increase the mileage since I’m not technically running yet? I’ve been working out this whole time soy endurance is good.

No, I wouldn’t add time or distance especially when coming back from an injury. You need time to slowly build up endurance and strength in your injured area.

My best part of my weekend, was when my Mr. 7 (aka as V, who is 7) finished his last 1.2 in his kids marathon in 8:47 and was in the top 20 to finish and there were over 500 kids #so proud of him

The best things I ate this weekend were the shrimp tacos my boyfriend made for dinner last night and the spicy Sabra guacamole we had with it. NY doesn’t have a lot of good avocados for me to make my own 🙁

I love when the cleaning mood strikes! It sort of weirds me out when it happens, but I love the results! 🙂
