I am still getting over the last of my soreness and really trying to do my best. It’s not easy, but I’m doing what I can.
Since it was Veteran’s Day I realized my mom and lil brother had the day off and headed to the house. My mom had brought home a watermelon that my aunt and uncle found growing in the backyard of their new home. We had no idea if the previous owners had taken care of the lil watermelon patch or if it was good or bad or what.
But since I am OBSESSED with watermelon my fam gave it to me.
Sadly, it was either super not ready to be picked or not watered enough or something because it was basically like a cucumber inside. Womp womp womp. I was bummed.
The lil puppies wanted to see what all the fuss was about though.
After that lil bump in the watermelon road I took my little brother (who is actually like 5”10 at this point) to the mall to play in the arcade.
There are so many mountains around here! I love SoCal.
I walked around the mall while he played and scored some new workout clothes. I’m pretty excited about that. Merry Christmas Monican!
And to balance out the watermelon sadness, we shared a soft pretzel.
I think hot pretzels and puppies cancel out any watermelon sadness, don’t you?

Watermelon and puppies can indeed make your day awesome. Sorry you couldn’t eat your watermelon though. I hate when I get excited about something and it doesn’t turn out the way I hoped it would.

I dreamt 2 nights ago that I ate an entire watermelon. It was very detailed , convincing. So when I woke up I was just amazed that any local stores were still carrying watermelon this late. LOL
3 quick miles at lunch. Less than I had planned, but I got to see my best friend and decorate the farm for a party tomorrow night. So overall a happy day.

I went for an hour long walk today. Then I walked for another hour picking up pecans. I am meeting my goal of 30 mins of walking or running a day. But I had wanted to run more this week than I did last, but my leg is not allowing that. 🙁

I’ve been stinking up my 15,000 step #potm15 goal. However, I’ve hit some other good targets this week! I started a detox on Monday and have not had any added sugars in 4 days! #HUGE all that leftover Halloween candy in the house. Down 3 lbs! And today I made time for a 3 mile run/walk. Everyday is a new day!

I don’t know what makes me more sad……the poor watermelon or the Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving!!! I haven’t been to a mall around here lately, I am guessing our malls are decorated too but I dislike it. ;-(

today was the last day of my ‘break’ to regain breathing functions again thanks to a sinus/cold thing. I did a RockinBody video instead for some cardio, but am eagerly aiming for a 4miler minimum tomorrow.
I will need to run some bonus miles this weekend to get back on track, but I’m still aiming for my monthly goal!

I’m on track for my weekly goal. Ohio weather was perfect yesterday and I got in a 6 mile hilly run. Hit the gym today for a great shoulder workout and have a run planned for tomorrow.

Working from my home office today, and am about to take my four-legged kid for a walk, followed up with an arm workout.
I’ve eaten some sad watermelons in my past, but I have never come across one that looks like that!

I went to the gym this morning for kettlebell/cycle class. I don’t think I’m going to make my goal this week though because I skipped my workout yesterday (which was supposed to be a run). My head was mentally somewhere else and I just couldn’t seem to focus on the motivation to get running…disappointing. However, I have been getting better with nutrition so it’s not a total loss.
I would have been so sad to open a watermelon and see that as well 🙁 Bummer!

Today I used IFIT on the treadmill and did a Jillian Michaels walk/run routine. That was very crazy for me since I am not a runner in any way shape or form. Got it done and felt so good afterwards.

I’m going to workout at the gym later and then do a yoga class. I try to do yoga at least once / week. It’s so good for stretching and mobility. I missed my usual Wednesday night class, so I have to make it tonight!!! I’ve been hitting my mileage each day (5 miles / day), but I’m concerned about meeting my goal today, so I’ll try to get some extra movement in at the gym later. It’s raining here and I’m stuck in a room all day administering a test.
That watermelon looked pretty gross.

A little more than 3 miles yesterday – on treadmill. I definitely prefer running outside, but it was too dark and cold by the time I could get to it… But I was able to watch my neighbors set off some fireworks for Diwali, so that distracted from the hamster wheel feeling.
Today is a rest day, but I’ll get a good walk in during the afternoon.

So sad about your watermelon! My father grows watermelon in our garden and the first year the same thing happened to us. We were shocked to see the inside so white. Turns out watermelon take a long time to ripen. I watched a Youtube video on how to tell when to pick them and we have been good ever since! 🙂 Urban farming at its best! 🙂
