Hello! Are you ready for the most awesome week? I am pretty excited because I found the BEST thing at Trader Joe’s this weekend!
Before my run this morning I had a banana with CRUNCHY SALTED almond butter = the best thing at TJ’s. For some reason my friend Joe the Trader stopped carrying salted crunchy AB and just had smooth. Not cool.
This weekend I spotted my all time favorite almond butter and did a victory dance in the nut butter aisle. It made me so happy.
Then, I went for a run. I stopped when I spotted this gorgeous Fall scene:
Unfortunately Fortunately, it doesn’t feel like Fall here at all.
I was about to complain and then I remembered I hate the cold. I do prefer to run in cooler temps though! I wish it could be 55 in the morning and 76 during the day. Everyday. All day. The end. Thank you.
I was sporting the new Mizuno Wave Rider 18 shoe for my run. I’ve been slowly breaking them in last week and finally took them for a real spin today. The Wave Riders are a little heavier than my usual shoe (the Hitogami) but give some extra support and cushion for longer runs. Plus, they colors kill it.
Mizuno has a Shoe Advisor on their site so you can find the best running shoe for you! Check it out if you don’t know what you should be wearing on your patas!
In other news I had a dream last night that I was running a race in the wrong direction!!! AH! Stressful.

Check out my Fall Must Haves from Trader Joe’s too!
Question: What is your #1 FAVORITE thing at Trader Joes???
What is the temperature where you are today?
Sally Kate says
Ok- I’m really not sure how you weren’t saying the cookie butter. It’s clearly a very natural product and full of the healthy stuff like speculoos. It’s tasty- but probably not my favorite thing there.
The instant green tea latte is my current guilty pleasure- but don’t make it with water. It needs milk. So. Good.
Tricia says
Some of my favorite things from Trader Joe’s are the cookie butter, sliced fruits and the turkey BLT wrap. YUM!
Angela @ HonestlyAngela says
We don’t have tjs in Canada and I have never been.
Crunchy nut butter > smooth. And salted? – yum! That almond butter sounds delicious!
Amy says
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Almond Butter!
Just was made aware of the cookie butter but am holding off on buying any until the next trip – having that in the house during a sugar detox would be a disaster waiting to happen!!!
The nearest TJ’s is just over 2 hours away so myself and a friend make monthly trips down. We actually have to start calling ahead to have them order extra of the Dried Bay Sweet Pineapple – otherwise between the two of us we clear the shelf! Her husband thought there was going to be an altercation between the two of us one time because there was an odd number of bags!
Oh yeah… and those Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Covered Almonds are awesome!
Losing Lindy says
It is chilly here, I don’t think it made it to 60 yesterday
Sue says
TJ here I come!
Daree says
Cookie butter. As far as I know you can’t get it anywhere else.
Amanda S says
I love the pumpkin butter! I’ve been having wheat toast with cream cheese and pumpkin butter for breakfast every morning for the last week.
They had samples of some pumpkin kringle thing the other day that tasted just like a flaky pumpkin pie. I couldn’t buy it because I would have devoured the whole thing in one sitting.
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner says
The $2 buck Chucks were my favorite during college. Could never go wrong with those. I also like some of their pre-made salads.
And about the heat…yeah it was super hot today and so far looking like it’s staying for a bit here in the armpit of CA. Was really looking forward to cooler weather.
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog says
NOM. I love their salted crunchy almond butter!
Teri says
Love trader joes and all the pumpkin goodies:)
Kathryn @ Chicks Dig Running says
Stressful running dreams are the worst! The only thing I hate more are work dreams, but I guess for you that’s one in the same!
It got down to Fall temps here finally this week (40’s at night, 60-70 during the day) so I finally caved and bought some pumpkin stuff at Trader Joe’s. So far I have only gotten pumpkin beer and pumpkin flavored dog treats (because my dog is pretty much just another basic b**** so I figure she’ll like pumpkin everythang too).
I hate cold too! But I am very happy to have some pleasant running weather after a really hot summer. I hope it lasts a while before winter sets in!
LInda @ Fit Fed and Happy says
I am pretty sure that the best thing at Trader Joe’s people say is their COOKIE BUTTER but I’ve made a healthified version of that. 🙂 I can’t wait to visit trader joe’s one day.
Amanda @ Slimplify Life says
Trader Joe’s has my heart. Dark chocolate covered almonds are everything.
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job says
I just had pumpkin spiced pumpkin seeds from TJ and they were off the chain.
Flower says
Chocolate covered salted caramels, healthy, nah but insanely good.
Looks like you might get Fall on Thursday, we had Fall yesterday. (Florida and California problems, hehe)
Once upon a time I was really into dream analysis and did you know that when you dream about going in the wrong direction it usually means you are either going through mounds of stress or something in your life is not working out the way you planned or wanted it to? I’m a big geek when it comes to dream analysis..actually I’m just a big geek. LOL
Shannon in Tustin says
I love that crunchy almond butter! I do buy the unsalted version though. I love so many things there, it’s just nuts! 😉
I just discovered a cookie & cream spread (think OREO) right next to the cookie butter. I did NOT buy it but if I saw it at the Tasting Hut, I’d hide out there and grab every single sample they slapped up on the counter.
I’m right near you so it’s a balmy 91 degrees today! Thankfully it’s getting cooler at night.
Diane says
I love their red pepper hummus and those plantain (banana) chips ~ so yummy for just $1.69!!!
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
It’s 73 degrees here – it was in the 40s when I woke up this morning. Fall is definitely here!
I haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in a while. I just told my boyfriend about the crunchy salted almond butter and he said, “Maybe we should go to Trader Joe’s instead of just talking about it all the time.”
The Silent Assassin says
Ahhhh, when you posted that first pic, I thought for sure you were going to say the cookie butter. Hands down the almond butter?! If you’re going with healthy, then yeah, maybe… I like the inner peas snack too. But I gotta say, the CRUNCHY cookie butter is the the best TJ’s thing…they even have a cookie butter ice cream! Go try that and tell me if the the almond butter is still your fav =)
Rosie says
Why would you take a photo of yourself pretending to sleep?
runeatrepeat says
I actually take selfies in my sleep, it’s a problem.
Carrie (This Fit Chick) says
I wish there was one near me!! That aisle has my name ALL over it!
Kelly @ Kelly Runs For Food says
TJ’s is the best! I love their cashew butter, their orange chicken, all the wine, and their almond milk.
Elena says
um the $2.99 wine 😉
Seriously – I love so many things there! The cereal sucks me in – I love the panda puffs which they have other places but are way more reasonable at TJ!
It is 74 and Sunny in Atlanta today – I LOVE it! It was COLD yesterday morning but that was fine since I had a 9 mile run to do and like you prefer running in cooler temps.
runeatrepeat says
You’re right. I change my answer 🙂
Alex says
I love their pre-packaged salads for lunch, especially the Asian one with chicken! For $3-$5 a salad, you can’t beat the price, and it takes the guesswork out of having to prepare lunches for the week.
Nicole says
I LOVE their almond butter. And it’s like 1/4 the price of Whole Foods’ almond butter. I live in NYC and sometimes you have to call ahead and ask them to save you one because it sells out so quickly. Crazy. And also crazy delicious 🙂
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
Last year, Trader Joe’s had a pumpkin spice tea. It was amazing! I would even cut open some of the bags and add the tea leaves to smoothies. I haven’t seen it yet this year, though whomp whomp!
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says
i LOVE cookie butter! So delicious!
Brenda @ Don't Lose the Trail says
I eat almond butter every day, and I just ran out this morning. You can bet I am going to get a jar of this crunchy salted kind next!!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Yes, I buy that exact same almond butter and love it. My favorite Trader Joe’s items are the individual packets of trail mix. I love them all and eat them nearly every single day.
Becky @ Olives n Wine says
Trader Joe’s cookie butter is the bomb dot com! I have to avoid it or I’ll eat the entire tub in one sitting.
Kelly says
I had to ban the cookie butter from my house. It’s TOO good. My favorite TJ’s item would have to be their Thai Chicken salad. So so so sooooo good. Did I mention it’s good?
Gillian says
I AM SO JEALOUS RIGHT NOW. i moved to spain a few months ago and almond butter is insanely expensive… I’m considering buying a food processor and becoming an almond butter entrepreneur. is that crazy?
runeatrepeat says
You should do it!!!
Meredith @ The Cookie ChRUNicles says
You want me to pick just one? Ha. I love the frozen very cherry blend because I like to pick out the cherries….I love TJ Jelly beans for my long runs, the 100 calorie dark chocolate bars, the flax seed crunch peanut butter, the onion rings (frozen section) and usually love their apple selection. And pricing.
runeatrepeat says
I love their frozen cherries, but I feel like I haven’t seen them in a while…
Nora says
I was at Trader Joe’s right before reading your post and I bought Hummus Salad dressing and thought about how you’d be the target market for that. Check it out!
runeatrepeat says
I’ve tried it and didn’t really like it. Boo.
Michelle says
I woke up two separate times last night dreaming that I overslept my race. I’m running my second 1/2 this weekend….pre-race nerves??
runeatrepeat says
I always worry about oversleeping my alarm before races! I don’t think that ever goes away.
