Hello! Happy Friday! How’s it going?
It’s been fun over here, but a little chaotic. My little brother is staying with me for the week and I live in a small 1 bedroom, so he’s on the pullout couch (which actually is really comfy and I’ve gotten rave reviews on it from people who have slept over). The issue is I don’t want to wake him up so I try to be quiet in the morning and tip toe around to get iced coffee and my stuff together for running. That doesn’t sound like a big deal but –
I AM VERY LOUD.
I’m a loud talker and beyond that for some reason when I try to be quiet I manage to drop stuff and knock into things and make a lot of noise. Sorry kid.
I gave him ear plugs and he’s been able to sleep through a lot of my racket. Having him sleep in the room and me on the couch wouldn’t help because of the layout (the bathroom and bedroom are connected without a door/hallway).
And I’m sure he appreciates me doing 21 Day Fix workouts while watching Bravo and other random TV on blast later in the day. Again, sorry kid.
Luckily he’s a good sport!
And I try to stay on his good side by feeding him well.
Yesterday’s workout was a bust because I had an early appointment so I meant to do it later in the day. That never happened because I was out till close to 10pm getting a new parking pass for my complex. I guess they had a group day to do it while I was out of town this weekend and this was my last change before they threatened to start towing people.
Womp womp. But I’d rather get a parking pass / NOT be towed and skip a workout. Saves money!
You know what else saves money?
Buying a watermelon from Costco. And this baby was probably the BIGGEST WATERMELON I’ve ever seen!!!
I usually only need one big tupperware for a watermelon. But this filled up two completely!!! And I ate a ton while cutting it, obviously.
I also spotted this book “Ginger for Health” at Costco. I feel like that should be the name of my next blog (if it’s about health and not the 101 other random things I think I should talk about depending on my mood)…
Even though I didn’t workout, I was a whirlwind of productivity yesterday in all other areas of my life!
I got new bio pics done for the blog, wrote a ton, hung out with my brother and got my car serviced. While I was waiting for my car I walked around the area and finally came upon the new shopping center Los Olivos Marketplace.
There is a big sign off the freeway advertising the new community of the same name and I always think it’s funny since it’s so close to my last name (Olivas). It wasn’t a super common last name while I was growing up so it catches my attention. I didn’t have time to shop around, but I’ll be back!
Now I’m sipping some Spark and headed to a doctor’s appointment. See you in a bit!
Question: Do you have a good place for overnight guests? Do you have people stay over a lot?
No one ever stays over, maybe once a year? My place is just not guest friendly.

Ooooh, I ll have to give those watermelon popsicle recipes a try! I just bought popsicle molds on Sunday and am really excited to try out new recipes over the next couple of warm months! So funny, at 33 weeks pregnant, watermleon has been my biggest craving during this pregnancy! I can t seem to go without it.

You gotta try the Burger Lounge in that plaza. So insanely good! My family and I have been to the one in La Jolla many times and were so excited when they opened this one. Anyway, their beef is all grass fed. And their onion rings are amazing too.

Nope not at all. I try to never have overnight guests.

We just installed a murphy bed in our tiny one bedroom apartment! Installing it was a crazy feat (that ultimately required the help of a handyman) but it is SO COMFORTABLE. But I have the same problem as you, I am really loud. I stomp and huff when I wake up and inevitably wake up guests.

We should have a comfy guest room since we live in HI but unfortunately we don’t…only a sofa bed which is very uncomfortable 🙁
but the kids love sleeping on them!
how is your bug-sting? I hope it’s going away.
I hate missing out on my workout but I guess getting your car towed away would cost you a lot.
