Run Eat Repeat

The Only Ab Exercise I do… Confession Thursday.

Fun

23 Oct

I have a very important question for you…

Q: What is better than new running shoes?

new shoes running (800x600)

A: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

#TrickQuestion

I got a special delivery from Mizuno this week and am running on sunshine Smile

The Only Ab Exercise I do…

Now it’s time for Confession Thursday… my lil way of sneaking into Heaven by airing my dirty laundry on the internet!!!

confession thursday

1. I saw Bad Grandpa the other night (that movie with Johnie Knoxville) and really liked it. Like, full on laughed.

bad granpa

2. Sometimes I purposely go to church late so I don’t have to do that part where you talk to the people around you. It’s just uncomfortable for me, which is weird because I really like meeting new people under every other circumstance in the world.

3. I really really dislike doing planks. And I had this bright idea to do a plank while listening to Tina’s What’s App messages. But since I told her that I hold a plank while I listen she keeps making her messages at least one minute long – this morning it was 1:30 and I was mad at her.

Luckily, I multi-task.

planks and dranks (450x800)

4. Someone pointed out that I’ve been drinking a lot more lately. Yes.

I’m not worried about it though… so I don’t even though if that’s a confession as much as an acknowledgment/cheers!

time to drink

5. I really wanted a Reese’s PB cup last night, but didn’t have any. So I melted some dark chocolate and PB together. I was good, but not the same.

Now you go!

Question: Let’s here a confession from you!

Hi Monica: I love reading your blog. One of the first I check every morning while having my coffee. Question for you about your Mizuno (I’m in love with the color BTW) – do they have a wide toe box ? or come in D width ? Thanks a bunch. Hope all is well in California. Way over here in Eastern Canada it’s getting a wee bit chilly.

Hello! I wear the standard and haven’t tried a wide width. I don’t think they have a wide toe box, but are pretty true to size. I feel like some brands like Altra and others are a little wider in the toe box – they are definitely not narrow though. My foot is probably on the wider side and it works for me. The Wave Rider (one of their most popular shoes!) does come in wide. The Hitogamis I wear are pretty light weight and some people don’t think they are great for long distance.

Confession: I hate folding laundry so I have a guest bedroom full of clothes…clean but piled all over each other. I just shut it and don’t let anyone open the door. I also like to squeeze honey in my mouth.

Confession – I haven’t run in almost a week. I don’t feel too bad about it because my mom has been in town visiting and I will be back at it after she goes home (Boo!) tomorrow night. I’m even considering being responsible and adding in some cross training. 😉

My confession? I am polishing off an entire pint of Haagen Dazs while reading running blogs.
Reading about running is almost the same as running, right?

If you’re only going to do one ab exercise, the plank is it. So much more effective than those useless hundreds of crunches. The plank strengthens the entire core. I listen to music while planking. That makes the time go by faster.

I don’t drink plain water. I can’t remember the last time I had water on it’s own. I do drink a fair bit of sparkling / mineral water. My dog also enjoys playing with the empty bottles, so to justify the cost I choose to think that I’m buying him lots of toys and being a good fur-mum.

My confession – i don’t shower right after I workout. I actually usually shower about 3-4 hours after working out. I get really really sweaty – I am sure I smell. Gross I know!

Confession: I hate the people who correct your spelling/grammar, and now I’m telling you that you spelled “hear” wrong. Also, I probably drink as much as you, but I don’t have a blog so no one can judge me. That’s not a confession because I don’t think I drink too much, either (though I would be skinnier if I drank less).

I don’t mind when people correct me as long as they don’t do it like an a-hole 🙂

I’d rather be happy and buzzed than skinny… I guess.

My confession: whenever I see people on the street with clipboards (to talk to me about gay rights, education, whatever), I pretend that the headphones in my ears aren’t playing music, but that I’m on a phone call. I’ll just start talking out loud, making up a conversation, so I don’t have to talk to them. I’m horrible.

Once while desperate (and pregnant) I had a spoonful of cold hot fudge and peanut butter and a squirt of whipped cream. It was incredible.
