Run Eat Repeat

These Puppers think they are lap dogs

My Life

16 Oct

Hi! How was your weekend? I’m just sitting down on the couch to catch up on TV (priorities!) and email and blogging. I spent some great time with my family and some great time with chocolate.

First, I did a 10 mile run Saturday morning to start the weekend off. I wanted to do a long run, but also wanted to let my legs get some rest after the Long Beach Marathon last weekend. I woke up bright and early to get ready. Vegas kept me company because he really enjoys being in the way. It’s his favorite.

Me: “Hey, can you move over so I can grab the sunblock?”

Vegas: “Nope.”

My run was good, but I got a little scared when I stopped at a water fountain.

No, it wasn’t a scary person or dog or something else that actually threatened my life… it was a spider.

Now for the record, I am not a racist. I have a lot of friends and husbands that are white. But I saw a white spider in the middle of the water fountain and it scared the heck out of me. I’m already scared of spiders but this one was extra creepy! Ugh. I tried to wait a second for it to crawl away, but it wouldn’t. It just kind of danced in the water as I tried to drink, mocking me.

I’m definitely going to have nightmares about it. Boo!

(That “boo”  made me think that it might have been a ghost spider!)

From there I ran home, showered and headed to my parents’ house. I spent some quality time with ALL THE PUPPS! They really are the BEST dogs in the world. Ever ever ever.

Oh wait, first I ate and then I went over there…

And breakfast dessert courtesy of Nutiva. The lovely people there sent me two jars of their chocolate hazelnut spread. It is magical.

Then it was time to love all the puppies.

They don’t realize they’re big and try to climb on my lap like lil lap dogs. I bet Ben feels the same way when I try to sit on his lap.

Question: Do you like little dogs or big dogs?

I like big dogs and I cannot lie

Great big Labs! We have three, and they also think they are little lap dogs.

I love all kinds of dogs. But I prefer little dogs since they’re easier to carry. Plus I love to hold them and hug them lol.

I love big dogs! The giant breeds are my favorite. Our mastiff was the sweetest, gentlest, dog I’ve ever had. Until we got out basset hound, I’d never had a dog smaller than about 70 pounds. Our basset is 45 pounds and she is the perfect size for snuggling.

My girl isn’t quite a big dog but she will forever love to sit on our laps. She’s a goofball! Good job on your run!

I like smallish dogs. Not 10 pound white things but dogs like my dogs size. Duncan is 34 pounds. My boyfriend has a big dog. Chester is 91 pounds and so clumsy it drives me nuts.
