Hello! How’s it going? Over here it going good but yesterday was kind of hectic. Before we get into the good and bad of it I have a little #TBT to share.
This is me at Knott’s Berry Farm circa 1990. Ha! So random. Lil Monican.
Okay now for my day…
I had a really great run yesterday morning! I did 10 miles and the first 5 were slow (per usual) but the second half of the run was speedy and felt good! Love that. I was digging the runner’s high for the rest of the day.
I am also digging these Puffins. Ben bought a bunch of random things the other day – ice cream, Puffins, beer, floss… you know, basic essentials.
I don’t know if I love when he goes to the grocery store or hate it.
When I went to the store I bought a MASSIVE mango.
It was so big and heavy it was 5x as big as a regular mango. All for me.
And I’m working on a few ground turkey recipes so I used some of the leftover ground turkey for lunch.
I make the most random salads, but I love them.
Okay… so long story short – the car Ben has been borrowing got towed last night by an Emergency Towing and 24 Hour Roadside Assistance service after someone crashed into it. Car accidents happen. Except he realized this in the morning and had to get to work so he took my car and I said I would try and get the towed car.
Well, that was a challenge because I am not the registered owner. There was a work-around I managed to figure out but it took a while and the whole thing cost a lot of money. Boo.
On the bright side, the tow truck guy was super nice and moved the car out of the lot when he could tell that I was going to bump into every other car on the way out and he even offered to give me a ride to an Audi service shop for some quick repairs. I also found one of the best transmission repair shops near me.
And in spite of my tragic parking skills he gave me a nice compliment. I noted this because it’s the MOST RANDOM compliment and yet I’ve heard the exact same thing before. So weird to hear the same super odd observance more than once. Maybe one day when I’m buzzed I’ll share it with the class.
The moral of the story is: I was not about to cook dinner after waiting at the tow lot to get everything sorted out for 2 hours.
The other moral is: You can fix a lot of situations by being nice and asking for help.
So I grabbed Thai food on the way home and filled up my wine glass like my life depended on it. Maybe my life didn’t depend on it, but my sanity did.

I am a 10 at parking. Living in NYC you learn fast how to parallel park into the tightest of spots. I like Thai but prefer Japanese or Chinese food. So long as there is ginger and garlic life is good though.
I’ve never been towed….well except when my jeep broke down and needed to be towed to the repair shop (oh and it died on the way to the subaru dealer when i was about to trade it in. needless to say they gave me half the amount they originally planned to give on the trade-in).

I’m a Boston area girl and I pride myself on my parking abilities, you have no choice growing up around here. I dislike the new back up cameras, I don’t find them reliable, I backed over a parking cone in a garage once that it didn’t recognize, it could have been a small child. I’ve only had my car towed once and it cost a butt load of $ and the tow lot looked like it was from a horror movie, why is it always like that? Love thai, my fave is chicken, veggies, lots of sticky rice doused in peanut sauce

1 – the only car accidents I’ve ever been in have been with parked cars and inanimate objects (AKA buildings )

I would be the first to claim that mango as well. I’d probably write my name on it.
Parking….Now that I finally *trust* the camera on my car I am much more adept at parking and don’t totally break out into a sweat when I have to parallel park.
When I was in college, my boyfriend (who is now my husband) and my sister came to visit me. She took his car to park it while him and I stayed at the dorm. The next day we went to the lot where she parked and…..no car. It had been towed! He was so mad!

So now you have me wondering what that unique compliment is! …lay it on us! 😉 Also, I got a car towed this year…Kinda sucks! A lot of money and you sure have to do a lot to prove that it’s your car!

As I was reading your list of what your fella bought at the store, and I didn’t see the comma between beer and floss and I actually sat here for a minute trying to figure out what beer floss is (face palm).
I would consider myself a solid 6 at parking. I can parallel park really well when no one is looking…but that rarely happens, so I usually circle the block to find an easier spot. I think I would be a lot better if I wasn’t so self conscious about other people thinking I’m a doofus.

Ha! I need to fix that.

My parking skills are at a 3 = like a sober 3 year old holding a chocolate milk sippy cup
My car has been towed but by AAA because it broke down
and I LIKE Thai food not love. I LOVE tacos though. 🙂
