Hello! How are you doing? Ready for Friday? Ready to read about running and eating? Let’s do it!
Well actually let’s talk about walking and eating (just not at the same time). Today is a rest day so I took a walk and planned to take a strength class as the gym.
This picture is from yesterday evening’s short walk while catching up on podcasts. I’m kind of busted though because I skipped out on SR’s pizza party/Bible study time. I’m the worst. But this was a magical sunset so I have that going for me…
I was also very excited to try out my new rice cooker. I have been thinking about this for the longest time and finally picked up this one at Costco the other day. I love that it has a delay timer so I can use it to soak grains if I am feeling all hippie like.
Using a rice cooker can truly revolutionize your kitchen experience. It not only simplifies the process of cooking rice but also offers versatility in preparing various grains and dishes. The convenience of a delay timer, like the one in the rice cooker you found at Costco, allows you to effortlessly soak grains for that perfect texture and flavor. However, to explore even more possibilities and make the most out of your rice cooker, you should check out kokare.se. This website offers a wealth of information, tips dedicated to helping you maximize the potential of your rice cooker. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just starting to experiment in the kitchen, kokare.se is your go-to resource for unlocking the full range of benefits your rice cooker has to offer.
The next question is obviously… what happens when you eat 8 cups of rice?!
You are happy. The end.
I plan on training to be on Survivor by living off of rice and coconut water for a while. Wish me luck!!
Dear Survivor Producers,
I’m ready.
xoxo, Monican
So after eating 8 cups of rice last night I was all carb-loaded and ready to GO! Except, today is a rest day so I took a walk and then headed to the gym.
Breakfast before workout… Iced Coffee and Apple Cinnamon Cheerios. Have you guys had these?! I just wanted to change it up a little bit and was pleasantly surprised. They are so good! I guess I’ve been eating the Original version for too long. This opens up my world.
Everything was going well until I got to the gym only to find out the class was cancelled last minute. Boo.
Instead of grabbing some donuts and watching the Today Show as my workout I decided to do my 15 minute no counting session and some upper body. Make it work.
It’s actually for the best because in the middle of my home workout I got a knock at the door with a big delivery! I’m pretty excited to live off Sabra for the next few weeks. I’d share but it’s not really my thing.
Aaaaand I’m getting a hair cut today! I’m working with The Salon by InStyle inside JCPenney for a special Breast Cancer Awareness Month promotion. The event is called Cuts for Hope and is from October 15th – October 18th. For every haircut at a JCPenney Salon, $1 (up to $100,000) will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
That is super cool, right? I love it. But it is only from today until the 18th so if you’re due for a cut get in there quick!
Now I’m going to eat lunch and head over there. I was kind of thinking about letting my bands grow out and doing a middle part but my cowlick is STRONG and I kinda have a five head. Hmmmmm. I’ll ask the stylist’s opinion.

8 cups of rice?
And you’re practicing intuitive eating?
Seriously girl, you gotta be kidding me

I was kidding 🙂

I’ve been growing my bangs out, but am thinking about doing the bangs again. It has taken longer than I expected. And now, when I pull my hair back, I remember why I had bangs to begin with. My forehead seems huge to me!

In 2012 I cut my hair short. It made me look like chubby apple. I grew it back. Been wearing it this way for years (except the short time it was pixie cut). Survivor used to be my favorite show. If you send in an application and video, I’ll do the same. Maybe we can be on together. Ha ha! not so sure about 39 days with only 1/2 cup of rice a day. yuck.
8 cups of rice – that’s a LOT of rice!
runeatrepeat says
We should!!!

i just cut off my (long) hair to a “lob” a month ago and I LOVE IT. so freeing!
Pippa says
I desperately need to switch up my look- I just don’t know where to start!!

I’m a big weenie and rarely try new things with my hair style. I’m good with keeping it a little longer than shoulder length so that I can just whip it in a pony and I’m ready for a workout. I’ll put a cap on if I’m running. But every 4 weeks I have to get it colored to hide the grey/gray. My hair is super thin and wimpy and doesn’t hold a style so I don’t even bother trying any more.
I’m a bigger fan of the Honey Nut Cheerios!

I read your blog regularly and I have one question – WHAT ARE YOU USING ON YOUR FACE?! Your skin is seriously glowing! New make-up? Diet change? Or some secret remedy? Not that you didn’t have great skin before – but the last week or so your glow has been turned up a notch! Share your secret Monican! And happy Friday.
runeatrepeat says
It’s the rice.
Just kidding! I really think it’s just my new phone. The selfie option on this one is super flattering, seriously. I can’t think of anything else.
Sheena @ Paws and Pavement says
Yikes 8 cups of rice! Lol! Don’t get your hair cut to short it’s sooo pretty and I’m a bit sad about cutting mine off this summer although I donated it to Locks of Love. Spreading some ginger love!
Crystal says
I literally just chopped all of my hair off today and it feels great!
PS – Monican, you are gorgeous!
runeatrepeat says
I want to see a before and after! That is super exciting 🙂
Crystal says
I literally have no before pics where it is not in a ponytail! 🙂
And I was in no wise suggesting you chop off your gorgeous locks!
Ella says
Five head! Haha. We joke that mg sister has a three head.
runeatrepeat says
I have extra I can give her.
Meagan Leanne says
Seeing as how you seem to live off of running and eating… I don’t think you’d be happy doing Survivor… lol. ;-P
runeatrepeat says
Very true. I’m out.
🙂
Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious says
I don’t think I could ever live off rice. I would just keep eating it and never get full.
Trace says
the Aroma rice cooker also makes an excellent slow cooker! In fact, I probably use mine as a slow cooker more than a rice cooker.
