What I Ate on Day 1 of Freshly Meal Delivery Service

What Runners Eat

5 Feb

Hello! This week I’m working with Freshly to sample some of their delicious menu items from the meal delivery service. It includes breakfast, lunch and dinner so I feel like I’m living the life over here! (There is a discount code below if you’re interested in having someone cook ya 3 meals a day.)

Breakfast – I chose the egg scramble with spinach and mushrooms for day 1. I broke the rules and added a bagel thin. But, I run (and eat) a good amount so I need carbs and protein after a run.

Snack time: My own lil treat Winking smile

mexicans love valentines day too (600x800)

Lunch: I know this is weird but I was most excited for the tuna in the lunch menu! I LOVE tuna, but try to stay away from it due to Mercury and Venus. I do really enjoy every bit of it when I do have some.

(I put the tuna in a sandwich because that’s how I roll. The tuna came with those carrot sticks and I added some more with hummus.)

Snack time again! I dipped some strawberries in whipped peanut butter and it made my life better.

Dinner: There are a lot of great dinner options on the Freshly menu. First day I tried the green chili chicken. This would have been great in a tortilla! Loved the chicken.

First I roasted up some brussel sprouts and then plated it all fancy like. (The meal came with those veggies too.)

Dessert:

Question: What was the best thing you ate today?

Me: I have to go with the zillion iced coffees I drank.

Probably my lunch: leftover beef stew with carrots, some roasted cauliflower, a few sweet potato slices and sauteed zucchini. My paleo life…

I simply could not fathom someone else cooking my food on a daily basis. I just couldn’t pay someone to do what I could do myself for free. I get that not everyone feels that way, but I would sure be weird with it.

I made a really amazing stir fry with chicken, peppers, onions, and coconut aminos the other night. Today I added pineapple to the last bit of the leftovers and it was heavenly.

Dark chocolate sea salted caramels from Trader Joe’s. They were so good I might have eaten the entire box.

Ice cream! Mocha ice cream with cookies and cookie dough – I know it sounds like I mixed that myself, but it comes that way 🙂

That looks like a pretty good day of meals! But you’re right, when you run a lot, you often need to add extra to what ‘normal’ people eat 😛

This morning I had butter and vegemite on whole wheat toast for breakfast. EXACTLY what I wanted.

Re: Freshly… I can’t believe each meal turns out to be $10.95!! I mean, you had to add stuff to them because they were so tiny, not to mention that’s more than you’d pay per meal to grab food on the go if you are really stuck or busy. Crazy…
