Hello! How are you? I know I’m very spoiled living in Southern California’s temperate climate but I am excited for Spring. I love all the fresh veggies and fruits and nicer weather that the season brings. Plus I super love seeing ducks in the riverbed with ducklings. I stop and watch them every time.
Anyway.
We’re talking about Spring today because I’m Spring cleaning my medicine cabinet. I’m working with Ricola to share some info on their Honey Lemon Drops and that inspired me to clear stuff out before adding new items. (Next I’ll tackle all the other messes around my place!)
My recent illness (it wasn’t the flu, it was some sort of disgusting virus up my nose in case you were curious) made me aware that I had a lot of randomness in my medicine cabinet. At the time I was too sick to deal with it, but today I tackled the project.
Ricola sent me some Ricola Dual Action Honey Lemon Drops to add to my healthy living arsenal. It’s always good to be prepared! They are dual action which means they help with both coughs and sore throat symptoms. The drops combines a unique blend of ten natural Swiss alpine herbs, natural menthol and soothing honey lemon syrup center for fast, safe relief.
(Yes apparently I brush my teeth like a maniac and that mirror is disgusting.)
I tossed out several expired products and replaced it with news ones with reduced costs, moved some things that didn’t belong in there and took a look at what was in my first aid kit. Done and done.
And in the spirit of Spring CLEANING I actually cleaned the mirrors. Look at me all fancy and responsible.
In keeping with the spring cleaning theme I cleaned out some of the leftovers in my fridge and made a mish-mash salad with all the things! I love this kind of meal!!
I also made a crockpot pot roast for Ben in an effort to bribe him into putting up some curtains for me before he leaves town. (It totally worked.)
See? Meal prep doesn’t have to be all chicken breast and kale. Boom.
Question: When was the last time you went through your medicine cabinet or first aid kit? Do you have what you need?
This post is sponsored by Ricola. All opinions are my own.

im a littld OCD about cleaning so i go through that probably every 6 month. pain killers i will keep a little past expiration date but liquid stuff i tend to throw away pretty close to when it expires. more beacuse my husband is weird about expiration dates rather then me lol

I actually need to update my medicine cabinet/first aid kit.
My grandparents gave me a small travel first aid kit after I told them I waited til I was at work the next morning to get gauze and triple antibiotic cream after missing a box jump (all – do not do as I do).
So yeah, I should probably hit up cvs or walgreens one of those days.

We’re moving places in a few days so cleaning out the old medicines is a good way to make more space for the other important things in life. This also reminds me I need to get a new epipen prescription!
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I was sick last month and realized most of my cold meds had expired! So I just replaced. 🙂

Oh yes, I stay stocked up on all my things in my medicine cabinet. I go through it about once or twice a year to get rid of expired things.

One or two moves ago, I was clearing out my medicine cabinet and I found ibuprofen that expired in the late ’90s. I was still in middle school when it expired, so I’m not 100% sure when I even acquired it or why I moved it with me so many times, but I figured that being roughly 15 years past the expiration date meant that I don’t use it enough to keep moving with it!

We have so many “medicine cabinets” around here we could be a pharmacy. We keep all drugs…expired or not…never know when you might need one and do they really expire??? I don’t believe they could. (Heck, I’m still kicking..ha!)
Pet peeve in my kids’ bathroom…..the gross splattered mirror…ha! Nice cleaning. 😉

I am so bad about splattering the mirror, it’s going to be a mess again by the end of the day! Busted.

I had to have a clear out before my last move. Some of the things I held on to, especially when it came to medicines, was ridiculous! How did I accumulate so many bottles of ibuprofen?? I hardly ever take it!

I had a travel one I never took out of the package and now it’s expired.

This really reminded me that I need to clean my medicine cabinet! It’s probably dangerous at this point considering I’m at risk of taking expired medicine– oops
Thanks for the reminder!

Yeah, I was surprised how old some of the stuff was!!
