I have two amazing race giveaways today!! I am sooooo super excited since I have run both of these races and LOVE them. I’m doing the giveaways in separate posts so check back for the other one in a bit. First let’s talk about a lil full marathon called The Marine Corps Marathon…
The Marine Corps Marathon is October 25th in Washington DC. It’s 26.2 miles around some of the most iconic and important spots in the country. And the race is sold out.
I ran the race year before last with the Watermelon Board. I run for watermelon so this was a perfect partnership.
Check out Watermelon.org for Recipes, Fun Stuff for Kids, Carvings and More!
The Watermelon Board is one of the sponsors of the Marine Corps Marathon. They are giving one RER reader a bib to run the race! And they are giving out watermelon after the race!!
You can read my Marine Corps Marathon Recap here for more details on the race.
Marine Corps Marathon Bib Giveaway
If you are available and able to run 26.2 miles (there is no half marathon option) on October 25th 2015 and can get to Washington DC – throw your hat running shoes in the ring!
To Enter: Leave a comment on this post answering what you love more –
Running OR Eating??
Contest closes Friday 8/28 at 8am PST.
Disclaimer: The MCM bib is provided by the Watermelon Board. All opinions are my own.
Ashley Blake says
Hmm so similar. I feel good when I do both, badly if I miss either, and both are pretty necessary for a happy fulfilled life. 🙂 But… I’m going to say eating, because I even do that while running.
Judith says
Running… because it makes eating afterwards so rewarding!
Lauren Woolley says
Running wins because of the feeling after, I often regret my food choices. Except watermelon, of course!
mandy says
I love both, but if I had to choose, it would be eating. And I love watermelon or anything watermelon flavored.
David W says
Tough choice – is running or eating my favorite? But got to go with eating. I can go a day here or there without running. I can barely go a couple hours without eating.
Kelsey says
Eating!!!
Tiffany says
Oh, eating! But I have to run so that I *can* eat the way I want!
Kelly Wunder says
Eating 🙂
Audrey says
This is super tricky — a lack of balance with both affect me mentally, physically, emotionally, etc. However, I have to say that I enjoy eating more (I dream about pizza while I’m running, but definitely don’t dream about running while eating pizza — that’s good logic for choosing eating, right?) 🙂
Leah K says
Eating. Eating is always the right answer. I started running Ultra’s so I could eat more 🙂 I live in DC and yet have never run the Marine Corps Marathon!!
CP says
Eating!!
Pam and Christine says
Eat, then run, then eat again! I’d love to have a bib for the Marine Corps Marathon
Nicole says
Eating……especially when I’m rungry.
Caroline says
Running (but eating is a very close second).
Sarah Alaska says
Running… it’s much easier to focus on running than it is eating. When I eat I have ~1 million things going through my head, when I run… I think about 1 thing at a time.
Liz says
I love to eat. BUT I love running more. I love how it makes me feel. The people it has lead me to. The places I have visited because of running. I love that eating fuels this. I love that running allows me to enjoy volumes of food. I love running because it’s such a part of my life. It’s gotten me through relationships, new jobs, lost jobs, before baby after baby. Always there. It’s like a BFF to me.
Sue says
Running!
Alicia says
Running
Jennifer says
I love running more than eating. While both are necessary for overall health, running makes me a better version of myself. I’m more calm, cool, and collected after a good run.
Malory says
Monica, come on’, is this a serious questions!? 🙂 Eating, for sure!
Allie says
It’s a toss-up but since eating involves pizza and running sadly doesn’t, I am going to have to say eating.

I love running more then anything. It helped me get through so many hard times and ending up making so many great memories
Ryan says
I have a love-hate relatoinship with Running, but it’s true love with Eating! Chocolate no bake cookies… yes please with seconds!
Robin says
Running for sure… Without it I’d lose my mind! 🙂
Stacey says
How can I possibly choose one or the other!?!?!?! I guess I will go with eating because without food there is no running. Pizza is my weakness!! Nom, Nom, Nom
Stephanie says
Running but eating is necessary to live 🙂
Audie says
I love thinking up yummy food ideas WHILE I am running! So food then?
I would love to run the mcm since this is my first time being stateside when it is being run! I would be repping the army though, that’s my branch! I would get to visit my folks too! Bonus round!

I really want to lie and say running! But the truth is that I love to eat. Candy specifically. I ran the MCM ten years ago and during training I gave up all sugar for the four months leading up to it. While I was running someone was handing out Halloween candy and I grabbed a handful of candy corn and when I ate it I could not believe how good it was!! I promised to never give up candy again! I love it just too much.
Would love to run MCM again! Also I’ve been binge watching the West Wing recently which really makes me want to go to DC….
sonya says
Eating!! Or I could say running, because it makes me really hungry and able to eat more which I really really love. It’s a chicken and the egg type thing 🙂
I would really love to run this marathon!
Sonya
Rockin' runner says
running AND eating, particularly watermelon – it is the best thing about summer!!!
Scott says
Eating – that’s why I have to love running! I have wanted to run the MCM since I started running in 2009. I have signed up twice and never been able to run it!! Once because of a stress fracture in my leg and the last time because of super storm Sandy (flight cancelled on race day and had to leave before the race to get home for my teaching job).
Brooks Smith says
Ahhhh! What a hard one! Can I say running followed by eating???
Laurel says
Eating! always.

100% eating!!!
Carrie says

Gina B says
This is so hard. I love eating. But I love running because it allows me to do what I love . . . eat.

Super excited about this give-away, this is the second year in a row I did not get chosen for the lottery and I live 1 mile from the marathon start!

Mia says
Running… the MCM! (JK — obviously it’s eating!)

Eating! But I love eating even more AFTER running 🙂

Lindsay says
I wish I could say running, but the reason I run is mostly motivated by my thoughts of what to eat…..so, eating!!

Eating, especially eating after a long run.
Maggie says
I love running but eat is a close second!!

Somewhere along the way I switched from running so I could eat more to running for its own sake. So I guess I love running more even though I run 5x a week and eat at least 21x a week. 😉

Veronica says
Eating!
Caroline says
It’s a very close contest but at the moment I prefer running! It’s much easier to think about eating, plan eating, visualise eating…while runnning than vice versa 😉
I’m training for the Dublin City Marathon in October (I’m Irish living in Ireland) so The Marine Corps Marathon would be an easy substitute training-wise and an unbelievable opportunity – Pick Me 🙂
