I’m wrapping up my Florida get away today. Our flight leaves at 4pm, but we have to leave for the airport around 1pm 🙁
I started my last day on Marco Island with a run around the place. This time I went in a new direction to explore. I hate that the humidity doesn’t dry up your sweat like dry weather does. I felt like I was running in my own filth. Gross.
When I got back I made a smoothie with almond milk, banana, frozen strawberries and spinach. It was just okay. I think the strawberries made it less sweet than a plain ol’ Green Monster.
I had the smoothie with 2 small bowls of cereal. I love these “treat” cereals that Ben’s family had around and I can’t resist them when I’m here.
RD Talk – I don’t know if I mentioned this after my last appointment with the R.D., but she kicked me out. Not really, but that’s what I told her she was doing to me. She told me we should put our meetings on hold until after the wedding and honeymoon. I have so much going on right now that going to nutrition appointments is only exacerbating the problem.
I use food as a diversion for all the stressful things that are going on in my life. I also eat when I’m stressed to help calm me down. Recently, I found myself scrolling through forums where people were discussing their own coping mechanisms, and a post about the best casinos online to withdraw without sending any documents caught my attention. It struck me how some turn to these platforms for quick distractions and relief, similar to my relationship with food. I know I need help with these things, but she really thinks I need to get organized and deal with these very important and real life issues going on in my personal life.
Her advice was to listen to the Intuitive Eating CDs (which I love) and just try to eat healthy and enjoy everything that is going on right now. Noted. So, I am trying to be aware of the things I’m eating and how they make me feel. I have noticed that I often eat too much of something I like and then feel like crap. I’m going to continue to eat what I like, but make feeling good the priority 🙂
Last night while catching up on emails I had apple pie a la mode. I always say I don’t like fruit in dessert, but this was an exception because the pie we bought from Publix was still doughy in the middle so we had to finish baking it and the whole condo smelled like freshly baked pie!
12 Day until my wedding!!!!
I am going home today and will be working the rest of the week and Monday of next week. Then, I have time off for the wedding and honeymoon until July! I have so much to do. Even though I loved this Florida vay-cay I don’t know if it was such a good idea 2 weeks before my wedding!

Good plan from the RD! Definitely focus on intuitive eating and feeling good. I really have to start with that too. I have re-committed today because I have had a lot of stress lately too and like you I turn to food and then feel bad about it afterward.
You must be so excited!! 12 days is soooooo soon!!

I just started reading and I enjoyed your post. I guess the only piece of advice I’ve got for ya is to just take a deep breath and enjoy the moments that life is bringing you! How happy, exciting, and wonderful. Little things may happen, but in the big picture– you’re marrying the man you love! That’s so wonderful! That’s ALL that matters!
