Hello welcome to my running blog! I’m in a funny mood today…
I was catching up on email and comments and realized I was getting the same ones over and over so I’m here to answer the top 3 questions your Monican received this week…
This week’s Running Blog Sentences with a “?” at the end:
1. How did you do that bun for the Disneyland 10K race?
I used Hot Buns and 86 bobby pins. Since my hair is long that bun was ridic. I don’t know how but it stayed for 6.2 miles!
2. What shorts are you wearing?
Got this after both of my recent races. I usually wear Moving Comfort or Mizuno shorts. But, when I ran into RoadRunner this weekend to buy some chews I spotted their Women’s Speed 8” Compression Shorts and bought them. I broke rule #1 of race day and tried them for the first time there. Luckily, I know what works for me and it was fine.
3. Where did you get that dress?
Monican: I have no idea. #fail
This one is kinda similar. (And it’s under $30!)
Got a question for your local Monican? Ask me.
I got a question for you…
Cupcake or Piece of Cake?? What would you choose?

Gli scaldamuscoli di lana e fosforescenti sono praticamente sinonimo di anni Ottanta e
fanno ripensare subito al cast diSaranno famosi.
Babydoll says
Cupcakes win out. Every time.
The frosting to cake ratio is perfect, but a slice of cake? Not so much.
That bun is exquisite, btw. I can see why it was a popular question.
Ashley says
Your question is TOO challenging . . . some decisions are just not supposed to be made.
Laura @ This Runner's Recipes says
Cupcakes 🙂 They come in so many creative flavors, and they’re less messy than cake.
Jenica says
….both…. shameless sugar addict. 🙂 just keep running, right?
runeatrepeat says
Exactly why I run 🙂
Ashley S. says
That bun, tho!! <3 it
**cupcake**
Sarah @ KS Runner says
Cupcakes. Hands down. I usually eat the bottom half of the cupcake first, then have the top half with the mountain of frosting last. Yum!
Tricia says
Cupcakes all the way! YUM!
I meant to send this in to you sooner, but next time you need your bun to really stay put, you should try the Goodie Spin Pins. You can get them at any drug store, Target, Walmart etc and they work really well. I used to have to use a ton of bobby pins also but now I just use one or two of those and I’m golden.
runeatrepeat says
Ah! I went to the drug store today – wish I would have gotten these!! Thanks for the tip.
Deborah Brooks @ Confessions of a Mother Runner says
Love the hair!
Em says
Cupcake!! 🙂
Kathryn @ Chicks Dig Running says
Actually, I’m going to kick it old school and say CAKE! I am not a big fan of icing, and cupcakes have way too much for my taste. Yeahhhhh cake!
How the heck did you keep from going insane with all those bobby pins sticking into your scalp while you were running? I can barely stand having like 3 in there! (One more reason my hair always looks like a wild animal while I run) I’m so impressed with your styling skillz!
Leslie @ Life Begins @ 30? says
I love that dress! SO cute! Cupcakes all the way for me!
Amy Ramos says
Hehe. You said hot buns.
I am down for both a cupcake and a piece of cake.
Kristin says
100% depends on the type of pie. Right now I’m leaning towards cupcake though.
Beks says
Honestly, I’d pick a cupcake. They’re just so cute and pretty! And you don’t technically have to share a cupcake.
Your bun is seriously adorable. I’m tempted to try that with my hair. It’s wicked long, and I’m getting sick of braids and ponytails.
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
As long as it’s it’s yellow cake mix and vanilla frosting I will take either. Interestingly while I love pure chocolate I don’t like chocolate icing or cake.
Thanks for the shorts info. I am always looking for 8″ shorts.
Flower says
OMG, I’m the same way! Love chocolate, but not on my cake or icing thank you, I’m vanilla or yellow all the way! 🙂
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
CUPCAKE! so much more fun. But I prefer to eat them with a fork, so I guess that kind of makes it like a piece of cake anyway? ha
Jack Sh*t says
Cupcake or cake? Now I gotta spend the whole day (including research) grappling with that question…
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
Cake all the way … particularly a corner piece if possible so I can get maximum amount of frosting!
runeatrepeat says
I’m for cake too!
Carly says
Cupcake fo sho! Thanks for making me crave chocolate before I’ve even had my coffee ; )

Ashley @ Kick Ash Mom.com says
Cupcake because I’m greedy and want my own cake, not a slice of a big one I have to share.
Heather says
Whichever has more frosting….
Becky @ Olives n Wine says
Can I have both cake and a cupcake? If I had to choose, it’d be cake 😉
Linda @ Fit Fed and Happy says
Cupcakes! They look more appealing. Maybe muffins actually, becsise I don’t like the frosting on top of cupcakes as they tend to be overly sweet.
Mary says
When the cupcakes look like THAT then I would choose cupcakes every time! 😛
Aine @ Awkward Irish Girl Blogs says
Whichever one has more of that ridiculous looking fudge chocolate icing on top 😉
Sue says
Those cupcakes look heavenly!
