Café Monica

I have been pretty much obsessed with the Burrito Salad from Café Rio since we went there last Thursday night before our flight. I don’t know what it was, but I RAVED about that meal (out loud in a really embarrassing manner) the entire time I was eating and still want more! Café Rio salad: They get points for a freshly handmade tortilla. Café Monica salad: I get points … [Read more...]

Chocolate OR Peanut Butter

I always prefer to run first thing in the morning, but blog stuff distracted me and I didn’t realize it was getting so late. I snacked on cherries while working, but my stomach started to grumble and I had to decide – run or eat? I decided on breakfast before my run – which may make for a less than pleasant few miles, but I was too hungry to wait until after. Does this look … [Read more...]

Rant, Run and Move On

I headed to the beach this afternoon for my running group. Their assignment today was a 45 minute workout with 6 minutes of running/1 minute of walking. They always do run/walk intervals. Despite my afternoon overeating I was all smiles. Leave the frowns at home – we’re here to have fun!!! When I got home Ben wanted to exercise, but I wasn’t in the mood for another walk … [Read more...]

I am Insane

Mid-morning I got hungry and had too many cherries while making calls and organizing my schedule. I had a meeting at work right at noon and knew I couldn’t wait till after for lunch. So, I just made it early which worked out perfectly I LOVE hummus, but guacamole on sandwiches rocks my socks flip flops. After my meeting at work I ended up doing the Women’s Health “Last … [Read more...]

An Exercise in Cleaning

Ben and I both messed with camera #2 to try and figure out the perfect settings and touch screen we decided to just return it and go back to my old camera (but a new one). This one will stick because I already “know” it. Plus it was cheaper, so there’s that This morning I woke up to a very messy house. I am totally a morning exerciser so it’s normal for me to ignore all this … [Read more...]

Low Calorie Ice Cream

After work I went to the store for one thing – ice cream. (Of course, I walked out of the store with 6 things, but that’s not the point.) I was about to walk out with my usual and favorite mint n’ chip ice cream when this Artic Zero caught my eye. It is 150 calories for the entire pint of Mint Chocolate Cookie flavor! Unheard of! Review of Artic Zero Low Calorie Ice Cream: … [Read more...]

Traveling Aftermath

I loved my Café Rio burrito salad so much on Thursday that I re-created it today! I decided to get guacamole instead of my usual hummus today from Costco – this might be dangerous! My happiest day of the year = The day cherries go in season. Seriously. My inbox and my house are both in shambles. I had grand plans to be unpacked, have clothes washed and everything put away by … [Read more...]

8 Mile Run and Eating Eggs

This post is sponsored by Eggland’s Best. Hello! Ben and I made a detour to Taco Bell last night on the way home from the airport. I really should have abstained but my willpower was already asleep (like the rest of me should have been)! But, Taco Bell apparently makes for great fuel because I felt really great on my run today! I ran 8 miles in 1:10:28 with music and a smile … [Read more...]

Sunday Set Up

Hello from the air! I’m currently blogging from my flight home After breakfast the boys went to do “boy stuff” and Kristin and I just hung out and caught up. It was nice. When they got back we all ate lunch together. Kristin prepared a bunch of delicious food before we came and had a ton of options for lunch. I made a big salad topped with chicken salad, chickpea and feta … [Read more...]

Blogging 101 at Fitbloggin Conference

Hello, I started my day with a 6 mile run with Tina and Theodora. Then, I rushed back to my hotel room to shower and get ready for my Fitbloggin presentation Blogging 101. Click here for my presentation. It’s not amazing, but beats a handful of post-its, which was my original idea. Roni and I didn’t think too many people were going to attend this session because I am … [Read more...]

The Most Important Thing

I totally crashed and burned after this afternoon’s Fitbloggin sessions. I went to my room during our short break and actually fell asleep for 15 minutes (totally unlike me). I didn’t feel like putting on my fancy cocktail dress for social hour. I considered not even going, but I decided that it didn’t matter how I looked or how tired I felt. The most important thing is that I … [Read more...]

Fitbloggin Friday but for real

Hello from Fitbloggin! After a long night of traveling I arrived in Baltimore, MD. First on the agenda was taking the shuttle to the hotel. We ran into Tina right away and carpooled carvanned. Then, we checked into our room. The hotel didn’t have a king bed room ready so we opted for the quicker choice – 2 fulls. But the view totally makes up for that   My office for the … [Read more...]

Love Tortillas and Travel

I have been craving Café Rio for years weeks. And last night we finally had the time (and an excuse to go). I got the taco salad with chicken, beans and completely excessive necessary amounts of guacamole and salsa. Their taco salads are served on a freshly made flour tortilla. It was Ah-mazing, but 100x better. They’re soft and warm and doughy. I’m in love. I stole a few … [Read more...]
