Hello! How’s it going? Today I’m collaborating with Inspired Home to share some tips on staying hydrated in the winter. It’s easier to remember your water in the summer when you’re hot and sweaty (oh, is that just me?). But staying well hydrated is important year ’round! Letting yourself get dehydrated can make you feel tired, hungry and affect your athletic ability.
Staying well hydrated is always important, but it’s more challenging in the winter. Without summer’s warm temperatures to make you thirsty, hours and hours can go by before you realize you haven’t had anything to drink. Often, when you’re super thirsty you’re already dehydrated!

Last night I spent some special time with my favorite tiny person at my fam’s house. Can you spot the dog snout looking at her?!

Speaking of spotting…. I saw these new Banana Bread English Muffins my mom bought. Whaaaat?! So I grabbed one for this morning.

I had it before my run this morning. It would have been 1000x better with PB though. Tragically, I don’t have any nut butta in my place?! Food blog fail of America.

Question: What’s your breakfast carb of choice? Bread? Cereal? Oatmeal? Tortillas?
Me: All.
Thanks for these tips. My skin is very dry the last few years in the winter.
I’ll go with bread or Ryvita or crackers. Carbs all the way.
Oats!
ALL.THE.WAY!!
Dave’s Killer Bread. Great for sandwiches, or toast with regular or peanut butter.
I find eating oats + Soy milk (non-GMO , no sugar added) + banana + raisins do fill me up and give enough nutrients until mid afternoon. Not sure if thats the healthiest way to go about it though! any thoughts?
I swear my skin is so dry it is about to fall off.
I like toasted English muffins with my dry (I only add enough mayo to make it stick a bit) egg salad
Speaking of staying hydrated, are you running the LA marathon this weekend?
I don’t really have “breakfast” nor do I have carbs!
When I wa in Canada this last Christmas I definitely noticed I wasn’t getting thirsty at all! Compared to in Australia when I’m constantly parched haha. Hydration is so important especially for runners! Cereal is my must have in the morning, I feel incompelte without it…is that dramatic? 🙂
Waffles are my top goto. Soft pretzels with cream cheese are my second fave.
ah your niece looks so cute!! she’s getting big! My carb of choice is usually cereal, but pancakes on the weekend. yum.
I was just about to say that too!
ALL CARBS are my choice bahahaha
! I bought a pack of those banana bread English muffins and I LOOOOVE them. Now if only I could find some crumpets.
I would say oatmeal is my go to carb source in the morning. I hate buying a whole loaf of bread bc it never gets eaten!
Fried plantains!!
I often put a few sweet potato slices along side my breakfast; otherwise, no carbs.
once in a very, blue moon I’ll have GF oats with almond milk.
Besides ALL carbs, my favorite carb is a slice of freshly baked bread! Especially cinnamon swirl or oatmeal raisin bread 🙂 YUM.
my skin has been so dry this winter — i feel like i can’t stay hydrated! this week i hauled the humidifier out of the attic to try and fix that situation. is it spring yet?
