Protein Pancakes and SHEEX for my sweaty sleep

Fun· What Runners Eat

27 Mar

Happy Friday!! How’s it going? I am pretty excited that I’ve declared Flapjack Friday back in action with some Protein Pancakes. It’s been too long since I’ve made these!

I made this stack of protein pancakes with vanilla protein powder. I have the individual packets, but it’s about the same amount as one scoop of the jug. I think any protein powder would work for these just adjust the liquid to make them the right consistency.

Protein Pancakes Recipe:

  • 1 packet vanilla protein powder
  • dash: baking soda and salt
  • 1/3 c egg whites (or 2 egg whites)
  • 1 Tb- 1/4 cup water (depending on consistency)
  • Optional: Sprinkles because it’s Friday!

Mix. Cook. Top with syrup and fun stuff.

Friday Favorites

The random things I’m loving this week!

butter is my favorite

1. Grapes. Purple. Every day.

2. SHEEX!

I recently got Sheex for my bed. They are special sheets that are designed to help with temperature control and wick moisture away from your body. That kinda sounds like wick-wear, but they feel nothing like wick-wear. It’s hard to describe, they are soft and thick and stretchy.

Vegas digs ‘em!

3. Stars.

I’m randomly obsessed with star tees right now.

4. Fancy coffee creamer. Treating myself! I never buy this stuff, but love it when it’s at my mom’s house!

I think it’s super bad for you though so I’m really going to regret this when I’m in Heaven… oh wait, maybe not.

backstreets back

5. All the cheese.

I got a special delivery from Cabot and promptly attacked the Everything Bagel Cheese… melted on a whole wheat bagel is magical.

6. California art. I visited a friend this week and spotted a super cute California state shape picture and love it. I want.

Question: What’s your favorite thing this week?

Those sheets sound awesome. I’m a hot sleeper and wake up sweating sometimes. They sound like the perfect solution!

I have two favorites this week. One has to be my boyfriend repeating verbatim what I said to him this morning, “Get up. I ate a ton of nuts. Help me” I’m the best. Two are all of the cashews I can’t stop eating.

Mmmmmmm pancakes. I have been craving pancakes forever, but I need to be able to make them myself, ya know? Syrupy IHOP pancakes just aren’t going to do it for me.

Also, I couldn’t help but notice Suzy’s comment. Give me ALL the ketchup chips!! And I don’t even like chips….

Who has been hiding this whole Sheex phenomenon from me?? I need these not even yesterday but ten years ago. I get night sweats cyclically (season changes? hormones? I don’t even know), and soggy sheets are the pits. My husband will be so thrilled to hear about these.

Right?! I heard about them a little over a year ago at an expo (random) but dragged my feet to buy them because I already had sheets (and am cheap). Ben actually bought them for us the last time he came out because he knew I’d sleep more comfortably. I still sweat A LOT (it’s unpredictable when) but these help. It’s not completely dry when I’m super sweaty, but much better for sure.

That everything bagel cheese is out of this world. You guys get EVERYTHING awesome in the States. Not fair! Canada gets stuck with hardly anything. I’m sick of ketchup chips!!! Grrrrr.

My favorite thing this week was being able to exchange my new running shoes after realizing that I didn’t like them and of course Stella, my Boston Terrier. She is usually my favorite thing each week. 🙂
