This Sunday is Mother’s Day! I only know because my mom called on Monday to tell me we’re BBQ-ing at the house this weekend. Oops! So as I scrambled to find a gift I put together this list of gift ideas for your mom / mother figure / mom friends…
1. The #1 gift for any busy lady in my book is a massage or spa gift card.
Bonus: If the mom in your life has little ones include a card offering to watch the kiddos while she relaxes.
2. Photo Calendar or magic kits or pretty frame with a family picture. I made a photo calendar for my mom last Christmas and she LOVED it!
I made it online through Costco. But there are a lot of places that do this. Since it’s already May you can save this idea for Christmas and print out a really good family photo in a pretty frame. If you want to have a decent photo, opt to hire an expert family photographer Coeur d’ Alene, and make this special day a memorable one.
And if your mom collects vintage stuff, then you may consider adding antique thermometers to her collection.
Or print out a few different photos and make a collage or use a frame with multiple options for pics like this or this one with 4 openings.
3. Stitchfix gift card. Clothes shopping for other people is hard! To be honest, I wouldn’t want my mom to buy me clothes. So, mom can choose what she likes with a Stitchfix gift card.
Bonus: Stitchfix now has maternity fashion deliveries for moms-to-be!
4. Mom charm or bar necklace. (I’m super into those bar/nameplate necklaces so I mentioned it, but it’s not my mom’s thing.)
Pro tip: A lot of “Mom” jewelry seems a little over-the-top / tacky. Make sure it’s something similar to jewelry she already wears.
5. Time! For some reason our moms like us even when we’re unlikeable.
Invite her to lunch or a movie or to get pedicures. Moms love that stuff
6. Wine. Moms need wine. Or at least mine does to put up with me.
If you don’t know what kind she likes peek at her stash or go to Trader Joes or Bev Mo and ask the people there 100 questions until they need wine too and then buy whatever they say.
7. Gift Certificate to a make-up store or girly store. This way you know she won’t spend it on shoes for your little brother or chonies for your dad.
Bonus Tip: You can buy a lot of gift cards online and email them to whoever you want! This way if you won’t see your mom on Mother’s Day or live far away or totally forgot and are reading this on Sunday morning…. you’re covered.
Question: What are you getting your mom / mom figure?
Me: I actually have a Cute 5K shirt for her I got from Sierra Trading post. She took up running last year and has done a few 5ks now!

She gets the pleasure of seeing me for brunch on Mother’s Day =) Well, I’ll have a card, some chocolate and a pretty potted flower of some sort. She’s easy to please that way.

Love the photo calendar idea! My sister did that one year and my mom LOVED it! I think this year I’m gonna sign her and I up for a bread making class at Central Market.

Way to go to your mom for running a few 5K’s. I got my mom some hanging flower baskets which she decorates with around her house/gardens.
I, personally, don’t NEED anything I just enjoy a day doing something together with out any arguments or questions of “why”………its the little things in life for me I guess.

My kids asked me what I wanted so they are taking me to an art and food pantry philanthropic event where potters sell their bowls and restaurants donate soup and bread, and then BOTH donate the proceeds to support the local food pantry. Can’t get any better than that!

That is really awesome!!

It’s going into winter here, so my sister and I are getting my Mum a new coat. I’m not great at picking out clothes for other people, but my sister is, so I’m pretty sure Mum will love it!

I’m getting my Mom a workout charm from pandora.

That’s a cute idea – is it of a shoe or weight or something?

Great ideas! Sometimes Moms are hard to buy for! I always get something boring like a plant. Moms like plants…and candles.

I’m getting mine a PetBox subscription – she’s obsessed with her cats and dogs, so I think it will be perfect. I tried to buy her wine glasses off Joss and Main, but they sold out immediately. 🙁

That is a good and fun idea!

This necklace is gorgeous! I’m sending a card with my best wishes. Too bad that I can’t spend the day with my Mom.
