Hello from Napa! I am here for an event with Panasonic. This post is going to be loaded with pictures – but that’s kinda the best, right? Before we get to all that food and fun, let’s recap my Pile on the Miles day 2 run.
I woke up at 5am to get in an upper body workout with Beach Body on demand and then ran about 3 miles. It was super dark out around 6am. You super early morning runners better be careful! Even if you’re used to it, stay alert and aware.

I showered, grabbed breakfast and was off to the airport in record time. I did my makeup in the airport restroom. That was part of the plan to buy me more time to run and eat before I had to go.

The flight from Orange County to San Francisco is only one hour. We were wheels up and down in no time.


The flight wasn’t full so I had room to stretch my IT band. It’s really the little things that make me happy.

The drive to Napa from SFO was longer than the flight!
I used the time to catch up on email and sip Green Apple Spark. I really liked this flavor!
The company sent it to me as a promo with my last Advo order. I would have not normally ordered green apple, but I am super happy with it. I would definitely get it again.


Now onto the event…
I am in Napa for an event with Panasonic to promote their new Countertop Induction Oven. It’s a super fancy, super fast, compact oven you can use to grill, bake and cook.

We met at the Culinary Institute of America.



The first event of the day was lunch – um, lunch at the Culinary Institute of Arts? Yes. It was amazing.



I used to go to a lot of food blog events, but now get invited to more running or travel blog trips. I love food bloggers because they love food. When you talk to them about a restaurant or dish or celebrity chef they get super excited. I’m always excited about food, so I love that.
But I could never be a fancy food blogger because their photography is on another level. They can take a pile of beans and make it look like a mountain of gold. I got a sneak peek into how they do it when lunch was brought out and everyone busted out their travel lights to take pics for Instagram and their blogs. Plus, they had multiple cameras. (I use my phone with the smudged lens from my makeup.)

From there we had a cooking demonstration with Chef Gabe Kennedy. He used the Panasonic Induction Oven to cook a head of cauliflower, whole fish and lamb (separate dishes).





We had a tour of the CIA (the abbreviation for the school). It is a super old building with tons of history.





I think I want to go back to school to study wine! Is this a real thing?

I saw this in the gift shop and had to buy it. It’s a quick guide to nutrition. Most of it is stuff I know, but there are some great tips on vitamins, food combinations and other info.

I was at the doctor and the radiologist today to look at my ankle after falling down the stairs. 🙁 I used crutches for the first time, though- that’s such a workout on its own!

so I ended up raking leaves today. Not the workout I had planned but it definitley got me moving!
I took two six year old girls on a hike through the woods. It was beautiful out, and we had a great time.

The food looks amazing! It was a rest day for me, though back at it again today after work!
Last night was planking and stretching. I have 10 miles this weekend. I hope Oklahoma can keep this cooler weather for me!

I did a comfortable pace 3 mile trail run on my lunch break.
5k for me, and my ankle that I sprained in september didn’t complain at all! Yay!
Got my 30 minutes in!!!
8.5 miles by mistake, note to self, don’t leave your car keys in someone else’s car when running a point to point!
Crushed my goal of 14000 steps by doing 22000 steps.
Ran 4 miles. Only 16 left to hit my goal for the week!

Day 3 – 3.1 mile run

But 3 mile run done before work. There was a coyote on the trail! No lie. I ran away and it didn’t eat me. #win

Day 3: Rest day for me! I did spend a lot of time on my feet though. I’m anticipating a lot of walking miles tomorrow because of the Chicago Cubs Parade! ⚾️

Today was a “rest” day – no gym. Didn’t quite make 10,000 steps (9,500) – boo. We were in the car quite a bit going to watch our 2 boys play in their college soccer playoff game.
12 miles this morning! Last long run before my half in 2 weeks.
Got my 10,000 steps in…. but needed an extra long walk to do it. Did not get very many steps at hot yoga, but the stretching felt amazing!
I didn’t run, but made it to work out with my trainer at 5:30 am after staying up past midnight watching the world series
Speed workout for 3.25 miles and 1.75 mile brisk walk.
Did 30 minutes on the treadmill, ran 21 of them for a little over 2 miles, walking the other 9. Wasn’t a lot, but it was something. Also did 15 minutes of yoga and meditation after a dynamic warmup early this morning.
Ran 3 easy miles & did a weight workout
I did 2 miles on the treadmill then arms
Today was 30 minutes of treadmill hillls.
Ran 2.67 miles on the treadmill tonight.
Day 3 – 1 mile. Bootcamp @ 5am tomorrow morning.
Today I ran 400m intervals! It ended up being 3.8 miles.
4.5 miles to start the day and 21 day fix Pilates to end it.

I got another 2k in on the treadmill today. So I’m at 6km run/walk so far for the week.

Today wasn’t my day either. Fighting a nasty stomach virus at our house. Tomorrow is going to be it! I just know it!
I didn’t run today, but I did sign up for a 10k + 5k chocolate run later this month! That’s right, a chocolate run!! Talk about my kind of race…
I’ll be running with my mom (her first ever 5k!) and my little sister (2nd ever 5k!) so it will be extra special. And now I’ve got extra motivation to get the miles in before the race…
Ran 3 miles today, the did an upper body defined lifting class, and ended with some stretching.

I walked an hour pushing the baby. 🙂
I’m a teacher, and we had parent teacher conferences after school this evening. I worked from 7am to 8pm, so I did not run today. I did do an ab workout before school though!

No running until either Saturday or they fix the treadmill at work. I did repeated i.ntervals of elliptical and upper body nautilus machines today, for a total of 45 minutes.
6 easy miles this evening!
Completed a quick 2.5 mile run on the trail before it got dark! My beats weren’t working so it was the hardest mind game ever to just keep running BUT I think it may have been a PR for 2 miles though (I was also missing my farming watch to time my run) oh well it totally felt great and I’ll take that!!!!!

I racked up 22,000 steps today! I ran two fast miles this morning on the treadmill, and walked 1.5. The rest of my steps were from teaching and walking to and from school.
I am on a roll!!!!
I worked late so I didn’t get to do my speed work as planned. Instead, I walked the dog.
Got in 100 minutes on the elliptical today. In the absence of running that will have to do!
Got my ‘required’ steps plus 5,000 extra to be able to make my weekly average goal!

I overslept and missed my morning workout, which was unfortunate since it’s the longest workday ever (won’t be off until after midnight). Boo. But I did manage to get in a walk at lunchtime, and will make sure and fit in a plank and some ab time when I can!

Today’s workout is taking place tonight! Running 3 miles at a local event called Firsty Thursday. The first Thursday of each month (May-November) a local running store and brewery put on a 3-6 mile run with free beer and raffle prizes! I’ll probably also do some light weights at the work gym beforehand.

I love Napa and am lucky to live only about an hour away so its a trip I take a couple of times a year so enjoy! Its a great area to run too…very scenic with gentle hills. I will be going out for a 4-5 mile run after work. Looking forward to it because its perfect fall weather that is great for running.

Today is another Crossfit day with a 30-45 minute walk. The weather is amazing for Minnesota in November and I am taking every opportunity I can to get outside!!!
Day three…. 10.9 hot miles today (meaning it was too hot) That gives me 32.1 miles towards my POTM goal of 173.4 miles. Only 141.3 miles to go!
Girls on the Run practice again today and we’re running intervals today! One lap around the track and then a 2 minute break as many times as we can during the practice time . Then planning to do 21 day fix lower body after!
Finally got out for 2 miles this morning. It was raining, but 60 degree temperatures in November, I’ll take whatever I can get! Still super sore from my marathon, but the run helped loosen things up a bit 🙂

I ran 5 miles on the track this morning during a little speed work session. Up to 9.5 for the month!
Getting my 3 miles in at lunch today. I finally bit the bullet and bought my first pair of Hoka One one shoes and I’m going to test them out. It’s raining here today but if it’s not too bad I’ll run outside. If it’s still pouring I’ll have to run on the treadmill that my company offers upstairs.
