So, I have been finding new things at the 99 cent store lately and I keep forgetting to tell you guys about them. The good thing about trying new things from the 99 is that you don’t have to worry about wasting too much money if they suck.
The last time I went I found this drink: TAVA. It is a zero calorie sparkling beverage. The flavor is Tahitian Tamure. It is unfortunately sweetened with aspartame, which I am trying to stay away from. It did taste good though (thanks to cancer causing, calorie free sweetener of course, so no big surprise). It also has some vitamin E and B6 and Chromium and Niacin. I did really like the flavor – it was very crisp and refreshing. But, due to the aspartame thing I wouldn’t pay full price for it. I don’t know, everyone has their own opinion on artificial sweeteners so if you’re okay with them – go for it.

Ironically, aspartame came about because they force-fed mice six lifetimes of cylamate and, Surprise! they got tumors. Ditto saccarine.
Get over yourselves. Aspartame is about as harmful as a chilidog. Or a bag of peanuts. (And there are peanut hysterics, too.)
I’ve been waiting for a carbonated fruit punch for years. Tava is delicious, and the Black Cherry makes a great mixer with dark rum. Enjoy!

Arielle – you always make me laugh.
Ashley – Yeah for Cali! I am in the Long Beach/Irvine areas depending on what day of the week. I love both areas. Murrieta isn’t too far from Irvine. When are you moving?
I might have to check out this sparkpeople thinger.

Where in SoCal are you from if you don’t mind me asking- I used to live in Murrieta/Temecula and am moving back to somewhere in SoCal in the next few months- any suggestions?
I also just finished reading the last few of your posts and I thought I’d suggest Sparkpeople.com if you haven’t heard of it before. It’s got a free online food journal that has helped me out a lot, you can load and save your favorite foods and it makes it a lot easier to keep a food log. Just a suggestion! (And I have your same NEED for cherries & grapes from costco 🙂 I tend to freak out if I run out of fruit in the house) Have a great rest of the week!
