Monday Recap

Food Journal

1 Jul

Finally! I have my act together and can post my day. I started the morning with a 5m jog.

Breakfast was a mix of Shredded Oats and PB Puffins with a naner and almond milk. I love cereal, but think I may have to switch to nf milk over almond milk. I don’t really eat much protein and that is super important after my morning exercise. Milk or yogurt is the easiest way for me to get protein.
I had a doctor’s appt. and ate some watermelon on the way to work. Lunch was simple – a PB&J sandwich on ww. This was so satisfying. It doesn’t take much to please me.
A little bit later I had a Vita Top 🙂
Around 4pm I started to get a little hungry so I had some cereal and almond milk.
It was some of this cereal and some grape nuts trail mix cereal I stole from my work friend. I don’t like this TJ’s cereal. Boo. I have been picking at it for a while and since there was not much left I just tossed it.
Dinner was salad and a chickpea patty, grilled bell pepper on a bed of ww couscous. Once again, I am obsessed with couscous. I can’t get over it.

Dessert! I topped half a Vita Top with a mini soy cream sandwich and a little cool whip with sugar free chocolate sauce. It looks like heaven, but it was not life changing.
I made one for Matt too 🙂 I’m trying to get him to love me the most. I think it’s working.
My chocolate need was not met for some reason. I don’t know what is my deal lately, but I can’t get enough chocolate. So, I had a little piece of this. Opps!
In other news…
So, I am going to Las Vegas this weekend. One of the best times I went to Vegas was the last time I went with my best friend Cindy. It was probably about 3 years ago. I have a picture in my room of us having a blast.
I weighed about 149 pounds at the time and looked really great – i.e. not fat at all. I know at the time I wanted to lose 10 pounds, I didn’t like the way I looked. I look at charts of ideal weights for my height and I was way at the upper end of those, but I still looked good.
Years of striving for a weight that does not work for my body drove me to restrict and binge. Unfortunately, that cycle resulted in me being 16 pounds heavier than I should be. I am getting better everyday. I do have a better relationship with food now to some extent. I still have a long way to go.

One thing that did work well for me in losing weight was keeping a food notebook. I wrote down every single thing I ate and kept a rough calorie count. Sometimes it was just about keeping control of my life through food. But, sometimes it gave me a good picture of what I was doing right and wrong.

I am going to start journaling again and keeping my calories at 1600 each day. I know that is what worked for me in the past so it will work again. I am finally at a place that I feel I can lose this weight in a healthy way and, most importantly – keep it off!

Chandra – thanks 🙂 we’ll see how journaling goes. You have a blast in Vegas too!

Simple – Vita Tops are amazing, but a little too expensive. I normally order them online. That means you have to order a lot. I have ordered bad flavors before and had to give them away. One local store does sell them and that’s how I first tried them, but most do not.

The only flavors I have liked are the chocolate ones, but not the chocolate fig – too dry.

Hey Buds… Your vitatops always look incredible. I have N.E.V.E.R. tried them… I HAVE, however, had the vitamuffins and I was more than unimpressed 🙁 Do you buy yours from your local grocery store (freezer section maybe???) or do you order them online? Have fun in Vegas gorgeous! Xo

Yay for Vegas!! Have a blast! 🙂

That vita top/ice cream/chocolate sauce contraption looks AMAZING.

Best of luck with the journaling again, if you know it works for you, then it’s the best way to go!
