Happy Thursday! I got a full 8 hours of sleep last night and am feeling good! After making Ben a super quick breakfast I ran out the door and did 6 miles. They were supposed to be tempo but with the uphill out / downhill back it went: w/u; 8:38; 8:55; 8:06; 8:38; c/d. I’m not a fan of hills, but it’s good that I get used to them for New York!
Post run – egg sandwich with Laughing Cow and extra egg on the side. Oh, and a lot of ketchup.
I was able to keep up the pace despite the uphill out thanks to my magic shoes aka my new Brooks Pure Flows. 
They’re so fast this is how they really look… speedy blur!
The kind souls at Brooks also sent me the PureConnect Shoes. Um, these just blow my mind. I haven’t worn them for a whole run yet, just around the house but I am loving the way they wrap my foot and feel so light.

Im a beginning runner and yet to invest in a good pair of shoes for the summer. The Brooks Cadence would be my first choice. New running shoes would be great motivation to get my but out the door and run!

For anyone wishing for the Pure Connects-I’m in pain & having an issue with the Pure Connects I got about a week ago. The right shoe fits great- I love it!- light and snug, just like it says. The left shoe gives me blisters on the back outside corner of my heel and there’s a weird piece near my Achilles that is poking me there. It feels almost like metal?! When comparing left to right, it feels like left shoe is missing some cushioning in that spot- I can’t feel it on the right shoe. 🙁

I’m recovering from a hamstring strain and would LOVE to have a pair of Pure Flow shoes to keep my spirits up! Either the connect or the flow. I have racers now, and I love how lightweight they are, but they top out at 10k or 10 miles if I’m pushing it, so I’d either want something to replace those for short workouts (the connect) or try the flow and see if I could use them for longer runs.

I would choose the Pure Grit. I run often on pavement but just as often on trails. My current shoe is a trail shoe and I love it for all runs so I think I’ll stick with trail shoes 🙂

I would definitely choose the Pure Connect. I have been trying to find a lightweight pair of running shoes that I like since the beginning of summer and have had no luck. I’ve been using a lightweight pair of Puma soccer cross-trainers but they’re on their last legs (no pun intended.)
I just bought an iPhone too so now I have a running app to track my runs and progress! I think I’m going to register for my first half-marathon in the fall so I need to start figuring out my pace. Really excited to get running this weekend. Now only if I had a new pair of great Brooks shoes to make it even better. Hint, hint.

pure flow or pure grit. I’m horrible at making decisions. Pure Flow would be great for the cushioning but Pure Grit would work well with the LI Summer Run Series I’ve been running which has us hitting the trails.

Brooks PureConnect for SURE. I run middle-distance track and do a lot of speed workouts, but I can’t always get to a track and use my spikes, so I’m always looking for a light, flexible shoe for use on the roads.
