The two ingredient pancake has been circling the internet for years now. Well, before that recipe I created my own two ingredient pancake.
And today I added a third not so secret ingredient to make a delicious three ingredient pancake!
Three Ingredient Pancake Recipe
{serves one – whole grain – gluten free with gluten free oats}
Ingredients:
- 1 packet oatmeal – I use low sugar Maple Brown Sugar (get gluten free packets if you’re into that sorta thing)
- 1 egg
- 1 heaping TB Peanut Butter – softened in microwave for few seconds
Directions: Blend ingredients in blender for 10 seconds. Stir, blend again. Place batter in heated greased skillet. Cook. Eat.
Tip: Don’t check the pancake or flip it too early. Let it cook on the first side for a few minutes to set and carefully flip.
Enjoy!

Question: Do you do pancakes during the week or ‘save’ it for the weekend?

Thank you for this recipe! It is very good. I actually prefer these over standard pancakes. I prepare them in a slightly different way, though. I figured that instead of blending the ingredients every time I make the recipe, I could just run a bunch of oatmeal packets through the food processor to get a coarse flavored oatmeal flour, keep that in a ziploc ready to use, and when I want some pancakes I just measure out the equivalent of one packet of ground oatmeal, add the egg and the PB and mix by hand in a small bowl. It works fine and no blender to wash!

I LOVE easy pancake recipes because I love pancakes and do not love waking up early in the morning. Yay!

Thank you! I was looking for a gluten-free pancake recipe that is quick and easy!

This sounds good!! I’m not a huge pancake eater but I need to switch up my breakfasts. Question – do you think it would work just as well with regular quick cook oats vs the package? You know, since I have all these oats to use up 🙂
runeatrepeat says
Yes, as long as they are quick cook. But I’m not sure the measurements.
Nicole says
When you say “blend” -in a food processer or super cool Vitamix?
runeatrepeat says
I used my blender (Blendtec)
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
oooh good reminder- I used to make your 2 ingredient pancakes (SO EASY! So filling!) but kinda forgot about them. Need to bring that back!! 🙂
Julie @ Run Away Freckles says
I love this recipe, I never though of using instant oatmeal packets before. I save my pancakes for the weekend.

I keep thinking I should try making those two ingredient pancakes but why not go big or go home and try the three ingredient pancake! Thanks for sharing your recipe. I’m always needing easy, tasty ways to get in more protein.
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog says
Well these sounds YUMMY.
Megan@ Skinny Fitalicious says
Pancakes on the weekend. Only time for instant oatmeal breakfast during the week. Does this recipe make 4 pancakes? That’s a lot!
runeatrepeat says
No, it makes one or two – I doubled the recipe for pictures 🙂
cate says
Yeah, four pancakes isn’t a lot! 🙂
Kathy says
I haven’t had pancakes in so long I can’t remember…sadness. So hard with needing GF and egg free. I might try these ones with a flax egg and see what happens. I love that they look like actual pancakes unlike all the paleo “pancakes” which are JUST EGGS PEOPLE…do I seem annoyed
runeatrepeat says
Let me know if the flax egg works!
Kristin @ W [H] A T C H says
brilliant!

Usually, we have pancakes for dinner. I do believe I can do this on a weekday morning, however! Can’t wait to try it!

Adding Peanut Butter to anything is always a good idea soooo I’ll be trying these. Thank you!!

Love this recipe! 2 ingredient egg and banana pancakes always turn out terribly for me, this looks much easier to cook. I only wish maple brown sugar oatmeal were a thing in my country though, I’m going to just have to make do with maple syrup as a topping I think!
runeatrepeat says
Yeah, the oats can be plain/unflavored I just like it sweet 🙂
Britney @ Peaches and Pedicures says
Yum! I’m all about quick and healthy recipes!
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I just can’t get on board with a healthy pancake. Mine have to be made out of flour and eggs and butter. But the photo with the syrup and bananas really is stellar. 😉
I try and save pancakes for special occasions and long run days. But I’m a pancake a holic and find myself eating them alone on weekdays.
runeatrepeat says
I’ve been craving ‘real’ pancakes from a diner 🙂
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says
I love this recipe! A new twist on the easy pancake!
Linda @ Fit Fed and Happy says
I could just make this recipe without the oatmeal. I think that’s just what I’ll do!
runeatrepeat says
I tried it without oatmeal and with banana instead like the original 2 ingredient pancake recipe and it falls apart. You might want to replace the oats with another type of flour.

I love this recipe! I love making pancakes on Sunday for breakfast for the week. Easy to take on the go with me!

I love the Salem gif as well! 🙂 I love peanut butter on my pancakes but haven’t thought to mix it in. I’ll be adding in the mix this weekend’. Thanks for the fun idea! I love pancakes during the week especially for dinner. Thanks for sharing!!
