I Just Want to Hang Out and Chat…

My Life

8 Nov

Hi! I’m a little overwhelmed today with some life stuff, plus there’s the election going on that’s kind of intense on social media and TV. So I need a break, do you?

Last week when I was at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa I saw something fun. The tables in the café had ice breaker questions right alongside the salt and pepper.

panasonic induction oven blog event 10 (800x450) tell me about it (450x800)

I took a pictures of some of my favorite questions to share with you later and now seems like a good time. I just kind of want to hang out with a friend and talk about fun, random stuff. Anyone else?

Grab an iced coffee, glass of wine, some Spark or whatever your drink of choice is and share your thoughts…

culinary institute questions (450x800)

What is the most beautiful place you ever visited?

This is the hardest question! I think I’m going with the Western Wall in Jerusalem because it wasn’t just beautiful, there was something about it that was powerful and really made me feel something.

I’ve also been to so many gorgeous places in nature like a glacier in Alaska, Hawaii, beaches in Florida, the rainforest in Costa Rica. There are so many beautiful places on the earth – I want to see them all!

what weird talent do you posess (450x800)

What weird talent do you possess?

I can eat an impressive amount… and keep eating.

Does being able to run 26.2 miles count as a weird talent?

Okay maybe not. I don’t think I have a weird talent. I’m very LOUD.

*I’m going to ask my friends if they think I have a weird talent and get back to you.

mountains or sea (450x800)

Do you prefer the mountains or the sea?

The ocean. Love love love.

favorite movie (450x800)

What’s your favorite movie of all time?

I don’t have one specifically – right this second I’d say Talladega Nights, Legally Blonde, Bridesmaids, Forest Gump…

I like funny movies because life is stressful and sad enough.

favorite condiment (450x800)

What is your favorite condiment?

Sriracha.

Now you go!

Questions:

What is the most beautiful place you ever visited?

What weird talent do you possess?

Do you prefer the mountains or the sea?

What’s your favorite movie of all time?

I can’t remember if I commented on the POTM today. I did 3.1 miles in the morning.
Most beautiful place I’ve visited. I’m not sure. Maybe the Bahamas or Vancouver. It was so long ago.
Weird talent is that I can wiggle my ears.
As I’m really wanting to try trail running, I’m starting to prefer the mountains.
Favorite movies: The Princess Bride, The Little Mermaid, Hotel Transylvania, and I can’t think of anything else right now.

Most beautiful place is definitely NZ! If you haven’t been, I emphatically recommend. South Island, Queenstown especially… amazing.
Weird talent, hmmm. That’s hard. I can eat some seriously spicy food.. like stuff most people can’t even put in their mouths. Yep, totally useless, but impressive I am told.
The sea! I live in San Diego
I honestly don’t have a favorite movie of all time. Nor do I have a favorite song. It all changes, all the time.
Almost forgot… 3 miles this AM. Ran to the polls and back!

The most beautiful place I’ve ever visited hands down is New Zealand. It’s just a lovely place. There are other places that I like better, and think are beautiful…Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, but New Zealand is just a beautiful place.
I don’t have any real odd talents . I’m sort of like you…I can run a lot. Is that weird? Maybe (or not)?
I love both the mountains and the sea. I think like the mountains more though.
My favorite movie is a little embarrassing….I have always loved the old Mad Max films (Mad Max, and The Road Warrior). They are just goofy fun films. I also like anything by David Cronenberg and George Romero (hello sci-fi nerd here).

Weird talent: I can recite the poem Paul Revere’s Ride in one breath.

I love the ocean, but after going to Colorado, I think I prefer the mountains!

The most beautiful place I have ever visited would have to be a tie between Jamaica and the Bahamas. So, obviously I would choose the ocean over mountains every time! I wish I could live at the ocean!

Hard questions, but better than watching election returns…
1.) The most beautiful place would have to be Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. I was there in the fall and the leaves were changing…
2.) Not sure if this counts as a talent, but when bored (like long drives in the car by myself) I sing songs (Christmas ones are the best) as a chicken.
      3.) Mountains.
4.) For favorite movie I’ll have to go with the I currently use as my go to, i.e. when bored what I put on, that is Oblivion.

What is the most beautiful place you ever visited?
Probably the wilds of Vermont. It was wintertime and completely breathtaking.

What weird talent do you possess?
I know every line of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie and most episodes of Gilmore Girls.

Do you prefer the mountains or the sea?
Definitely the sea. I am a beach girl at heart.

What’s your favorite movie of all time?
Of all time? Yikes…Pirates of the Caribbean is up there, obviously. Princess Bride and When Harry Met Sally are the two I can always watch and never get sick of, so they’re up there too!

What is the most beautiful place you ever visited?
-I just got back from traveling around Europe for ~5 weeks and its even harder to pick out the most beautiful place! I guess right now would have to be Interlaken Switzerland. The Alps are just amazing, but I also have a love affair with Innsbruck Austria.

What weird talent do you possess?
-Weird? hmmmm I have several different handwriting styles (but still have not mastered “Lettering/Calligraphy”) and can write legible with my non dominant hand.

Do you prefer the mountains or the sea?
-100% toss up. I love the ocean (as I live by the sea) but I find much serenity and beauty with the mountains (where I grew up).

What’s your favorite movie of all time?
-of all time has to be Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I love a good movie I can laugh the whole way through.
