7 Miles and some Chips

Marathon

FacebookTweetPin
1 Sep

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday 🙂

This morning I did 7 miles at around a 9:05 pace. It was supposed to be a tempo run, but since we moved to a more hilly area I have completely slacked off on trying to increase speed. I need to re-examine my goals and training plan if I want to get better!

I think 7 miles is the most I’ve ever done before work. I don’t really have the time for anything more than that. I dream of a life where I run when and how much I want and don’t have to work… If only I was fast enough to get sponsors 😉

It’s Waffle Wednesday! IMG_0890

Two whole wheat waffles and eggs . I made egg beaters in the microwave for some protein and topped it with almond butter for staying power.IMG_0887

And some syrup and chia seeds round it out. This seems like a delicious breakfast for under 400 calories. IMG_0888

Terra Chips sent me some of their vegetable chips to sample recently. I have tried the regular flavor in the past, but this was my first time trying their Exotic Harvest blend. And I haven’t even opened the Mexican inspired bag yet!IMG_0891

These are the prettiest chips I’ve ever seen too. I love when food is pleasant to the eye and the mouth at the same time. IMG_0894And yes, I had some while packing my lunch this morning. Chips in the morning is perfectly fine if they are Kabocha chips, right?

Want some chips? Terra has offered to send one lucky Run,Eat,Repeat reader a prize pack is valued at $25 and includes four bags of TERRA Chips, a martini glass inspired serving bowl and a Summer Entertaining Guide. Following are the featured varieties:

· Terra a la Mexicana – The latest addition to the Terra Exotic Mix line-up is this classic mix of vegetable chips seasoned with a piquant blend of tomato, black bean and roasted garlic flavors.

· Terra Original – Terra Original is made up of the classic mix of Taro, Sweet Potato, Yuca, Batata, Parsnip, and Ruby Taro.

· Terra Blues – Packed with flavor, Terra Blues are flavorful yet but with 40 percent less fat than the leading brand of potato chips and are made with naturally blue potatoes. A vibrant bluish-purple in color with a slightly nutty flavor, these Terra Blues® Potato Chips are deliciously different.

· Terra Exotic Harvest with Sea Salt – This earthy exotic harvest features a medley of flavorful blue potato, sweet carrots and japanese kabocha squash.

For the last 20 years, Terra® Chips has brought a new distinction to gourmet snacks by providing premium quality, all-natural chips in vibrant colors and flavors.  Visit www.terrachips.com for more information on the products and the Fire Up the Flavor program.  TERRA Giveaway Image 2010

I’d love to try the carrot or the sweet potato since those are two of my favorite roasted veggies. But they all sound so good 🙂

Great job on the run! When I was training for Hood To Coast, my 7 mile runs were around 1:18 or so. When race day finally came, I was able to do it in 1:04! I was pretty happy.
