I love, love, love smoothies. My favorite is simple, but amazing:

      HONEY ALMOND SMOOTHIE
      1 honey oikos yogurt
      1 banana
      1/2 cup light vanilla soy-milk
ice to your liking (I use about a cup or so)
chopped almonds or almond butter (optional)

This is a great breakfast or afternoon snack. It was hard to pick my favorite, but this one fills me up the most, and requires no cutting or cleaning and fruit (something that I don’t always have the time to do)!

Ah! My fake Magic Bullet just broke!! I love everything in the kitchen sink style smoothies, but my current favorite is:
      1 banana
      1 frozen kiwi
      2 frozen strawberries
a handful of kale (if you have the right kind of blender)
a little of chocolate protein powder
1/4 cup almond milk and 1/4 cup soy milk
      1 TB flax
~1 tsp Almond butter (bc i usually eat some off the spoon and end up putting a smaller amount in the actual smoothie…)

But honestly things just get thrown in as I go! I highly suggest buying discount fruit and freezing it. I tend to go through fruit really fast, so this is my new favorite technique! 🙂

Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

      1/2 banana
      1/2 c berries (whatever I have)
1 large beet **the beet is the key ingredient!
      large handful of spinach
      1/2 c milk
1 scoop of Amazing Grass Chocolate

      Blend & enjoy!!!

Beets may sound like a weird add but they are really sweet and all mixed up you can hardly taste them!

I just made an awesome (though random) one this morning…

      — cup of 2% milk (or milk sub)
      — 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
      — 1/2 to 1 c of frozen raspberries (I just eyeballed it)
      — 2 big handfuls of spinach
      — 2 dollops of greek yogurt

I fix all types of smoothies, but my FAVE combo is:
      3/4 C Almond milk
      1/2 FROZEN banana
      1/2 c. frozen cherries
      1 scoop vanilla protein powder
      1 sweet n low

      i can’t believe i haven’t entered this yet!!!

i have a cheap-o blender and would looooooooove a nice one. i love putting whole nuts in my smoothies instead of PB which i feel like gets lost. so i’ll put in 1/4 c walnuts, spinach, banana, and almond milk. you can add vanilla protein powder if you want, any kind.

another addition i’ll make occasionally is raisins!! they add a lot of sweetness. with my cheap-o blender tho they don’t get blended kinda at all… heh 🙂

      mmmmmmmm!!

I love, love, love figgy almond smoothies. Here’s the recipe:

4-6 very ripe, fresh figs (the number used depends on the size of the figs and on how ‘figgy’ you want your smoothy to be)
1/2 cup vanilla or plain yogurt, greek or regular
      1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
water & ice–use as much or as little as you prefer
1/8-1/4 tsp each of xanthan & guar gums for texture
      1T almond butter
optional: 1/4-1/2 tsp almond extract (depending on how strong an almond flavor you want)
Blend above ingredients and top w/ sliced almonds. Enojy while making happy noises.

      Bananas
      Strawberries
rice or almond milk (vanilla is awesome)
a scoop (or two!) of almond or sunflower nut butter

1 frozen banana (chopped. My lame blender can’t handle it)
      1/2 cup strawberries
1 scoop pina colada protein powder

My smoothies are always pretty basic, but pretty healthy (and tasty!):
      – chopped strawberries (I don’t measure…but it’s always a lot!)
      – .5 – 1 banana
      – .5 – 1 cup plain yogurt
      – splash of OJ
      – (handful of spinach, if you need some green)

      Yum!

      My favorite smoothie is:

Salt, for rimming the glass (optional)
      Ice
1 1/2 ounces tequila (blanco, 100 percent agave)
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 ounce Cointreau (not Triple Sec)

Blend. I thought you’d appreciate my honesty.

I do not endorse taking margaritas ‘to go’ anywhere other than outside. 🙂

My current smoothie obsession (and it rotates) is of the chocolate milkshake variety. I combine 1 cup almond milk, 1 frozen banana, 2 Tbsps of organic peanut butter, and 1 scoop of designer whey chocolate protein powder. It’s like dessert, only justifiably part of a balanced diet.

      1/2 banana
      scoop of protien powder
      handfull of spinach
      splash of almond milk

      1 cup nonfat milk
1 tsp nut butter (nuttzo is fantastic in this)
      1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop chocolate whey protein (or 1 Tbsp cocoa powder)
      1/4 tsp cinnamon

      1 cup vanilla almond milk
      1/2 tsp cocoa powder
      half frozen banana
      a few handfuls spinach
      4 ice cubes

The chocolate flavor in the background (and I guess chocolate protein powder would work too?) just makes this. Sometimes I throw in a few pieces of mango, too. Yum!

I am currently eating a smoothie right out of my magic bullet cup. It gets very worn down from so much use.

The smoothie I am eating right now is very basic, but I like my smoothies non-fussy.

      2.5 ounces frozen grapes
      3 ounces frozen banana

Unfortunately I am in Australia so I cannot enter this comp 🙁
However, I have a couple of questions please Monica??
      (1) Approx. how much do these magic bullets cost in the States? They sell them on TV here but they are rather expensive.
      (2) I am heading over to LA, etc in 6 weeks…..can you buy these in the stores over there or just via the web?? If you know of any chains that sell them, please let me know and I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL!
Thanks so much for your help!!!
PS: I have no exciting smoothie recipes because I just copy your ones and the ones from the other blogs I read!! Thankyou for opening my mind up to ingredients I would never have even known about such as chia, MACA, etc!!
