I don’t curl my hair often because I am lazy it takes so long and falls out super fast. But when I do, I love it! I curled my hair for the party last night and woke up to a curly pony tail this morning.
I don’t know if it’s my cheerleader past or what, but I LOVE love curly pony tails.
These curls aren’t half as tight as my old cheer curls, but I still love the look.
Flashback Friday! I was in cheer in jr. high through high school. For every competition we would have to have our hair in a high, tight pony with curls. No bangs, no fly-aways, no falling curls. I probably lost a lot of brain cells from all the Cha-cha net we used.
To preserve my curls I put them in a bun before my run. We’ll see if it works.
Run: I did 3.65 miles and walked the rest home (I was going out for 4). My legs have felt tired since Vegas and I can’t shake it I think I need a break so I’m going to take it easy for the rest of the day and really baby myself after my long run this weekend.
I think I should have taken off a week or two after Long Beach because I’m physically and mentally burnt out. At this point it’s too late, the entries are paid for and goals are set. But, I’m working rest into my 2011 plans.
Breakfast: I had one last piece of 3 layer corn bread casserole and decided to eat it for breakfast.
How do you make leftover casserole breakfast food?
Put an egg on it.
I heated the casserole and then topped it with a fried egg.
This is a great trick for leftovers that get dry in the fridge. Topping them with an egg gives them a new purpose in life, breakfast!
I have been craving a green smoothie for days and days so after breakfast I was still hungry and made one in my new schooner glass. Genius.
Get a schooner, put some smoothie in it. Be happy.
Fun Friday randomness… ever heard of fried gnocci? Well, this guy tried to make it and it is a funny disaster. Don’t try frying gnocci until you watch this video first.
Question of the Day: What’s the best fried food you’ve ever tried?
Hmmmm. The deep fried butter was good, but I think I’m partial to mojos (seasoned fried potatoes from Shakey’s).

I love fried food, but I can’t eat it. It makes my stomach burn like I swallowed fire!

ahah i love the egg idea! ahahaha fried gnocchi- NICE

That video was awesome….. my favorite fried food is potato skins from The Anchor Bar. Fried potato with cheddar cheese and bacon bits…. then you add sour cream. Mmmmmmm

I always wondered what the deep fried butter really was…I think I even posted about it after the annual state fair trek. My favorite deep fried food to date was the Krispy Kreme cheeseburger…sounds disgusting, tasted delicious 🙂 So wrong, yet so right in so many ways! haha

BAHAHA! I loved that video. I think my favorite fried food would have to be fried ice cream. However, once I get my hands on a fried snickers bar, I have a feeling that it will become my favorite fried food.

I understand your hair non-curling issues. Yours looks very nice up in the ponytail! My hair is pin straight and doesn’t hold any sort of curl for much longer than 30 minutes. The only reason I put it up in rollers is to give it some extra bounce.

I think that’s me holding up someone’s leg in the cheer photo. I’m bummed I only had that one year of super tight curls and too much hairspray.

Ha! I was going to FB the girls and let them I posted this picture to make sure it was okay. Hope no one gets mad, it was like 50 million years ago…

That breakfast looks ah-mazing! I love curling my pony (like yours, it doesn’t stay curled long) – and topping it off with a ribbon! I still have bags full of ribbon strands for my ponytails. It makes me happy to wear them.
runeatrepeat says
I still love wearing ribbons too and have been wearing them for races lately. It’s like I’m fancy.

I’ve never had fried Gnocci, but I had a lot of different fried items last Sunday at my friend’s Fried Food Sunday party. You should check out the post! Everything from fried pickles and mushrooms to chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. My favorite has got to be jalapeno poppers, though!

Fried Food Sunday = Sounds like a fun party!

This is about as gross as the fried butter, but at the IA State Fair a few years ago I tried a fried Oreo and it was AMAZING. But if I had to pick a favorite fried food it would hands down be batter-dipped white cheddar cheese balls. YUM. 🙂

Great curls! It’s funny, when I was growing up I had really tight, dark curls and my sister had really straight, blonde hair. I have always tried to straighten mine (growing it super-long–like, to my bra-strap long–does the trick of chilling the curls out), and my sister has always tried to curl hers (her curls never used to stick, like yours, but now that she’s older her curls stay longer). The hair is always greener on the other side! Oh, wait…
