Happy Tuesday 🙂 Ben and I woke up early, but we ended up getting distracted searching for a matching pair of white socks and discussing details of the world. You know how that goes… So, by the time I was about to get out the door I had been up for an hour and a half with no fuel. Major No-No!

I grabbed this sample of Gatorade pre-workout fuel I got at Blogher.IMG_9207 (800x600)

It’s a small energy bite perfect for shorter workouts. Or, you can eat more than one for longer sessions. IMG_9209 (800x600)

But, a little warning – I didn’t realize this thing was wrapped in paper and almost bit into it!IMG_9210 (800x600)

Peel and eat 🙂 IMG_9213 (800x600)

It might be other factors, but I did feel more energetic on this run versus yesterdays when I didn’t have one of these! So, there’s that…

I did 6 miles, was supposed to do 8 but the late start meant nope.IMG_9224 (600x800)

When I got home I glanced at the time – 9am exactly. CRAP! Our water is shut off from 9am to 11am today and I have to be at work at 11am!!! IMG_9217 (800x600)

I am way too sweaty and smelly to go like this, so I’m going to have to show up early to shower at work.  IMG_9222 (600x800)

I am all about the egg sandwich today and couldn’t wait for breakfast!   IMG_9226 (800x600)

BIG Bites!IMG_9228 (800x600)

I’ve mentioned it before, but I get really into my food. Today I had ketchup all up my arm and didn’t realize until I was done. IMG_9230 (600x800)

I had a coupon for this Tropicana Juice and has been drinking it straight out of the carton, so it hasn’t been documented on the blog. Ben hates this stuff so it’s totally okay for me to drink out of the container since it’s all mine!  IMG_9236 (600x800)

You guys know Dunkin Donuts is the reason I fell in love with iced coffee last year when I lived in Maryland. There’s no DD in California, but I LOVE to hit it up when we visit Ben’s family in Florida 🙂 monica and dd

Now Dunkin Donuts is considering using Cage Free eggs in their egg sandwiches! You can sign a petition to encourage them to use cage free eggs here.

Question: Iced coffee, Iced Tea, Ice Skating or Ice Cream?

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

What’s funny is that we had a DD here for years and I never went and then they all went away in the entire state! Then they started advertising here like crazy. I still don’t understand that. Umm…I can’t go to you, NOW!

Out of those options, definitely ice cream. I don’t care that it’s only just after 9am, I want some!

And I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but that bite totally looks better with the paper on. It almost looks like a thin white chocolate sheen.

      Hi!

I have been living in Austria (but I’m a Finnish girl) and there we have lots of fruity or berry bars which are wrapped like that. And yes, You can eat the “paper” 😀

I almost bought a pack of those energy bites the other day!! They look tatsy… are they??

I always buy that Trop 50 calcium orange juice and my boyfriend always ends up drinking the majority of it haha

I live in Boston and there is a Dunkin Donuts on every corner. Seriously. I adore iced coffee but it makes me incredibly anxious… especially in the middle of the night! It is so sad because every day before work I walk by a Dunks and the iced coffee sirens tempt we with their sweet coffee aromas. AHHH!! When I actually go in I always end up getting an iced tea.

Awesome to hear that Dunks may switch to cage free eggs LOVE it!!!!

Definitely Iced tea girl here… preferably herbal like mint.

Ice cream is is VERY high on my list. I don not think ice skating is even on it haha

Ice skating…if only I could stay on my feet for more than 10 seconds and not fall over causing my knees to look like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre happened inside of them.

I get ketchup arms too…and green smoothie face, and Chocolate Sun Warrior arms. I always have some kind of food all over me 😛

I most definitely don’t function in the mornings without iced coffee. It’s hella hot here in AZ. Nothing but iced drinks for this girl! 😉
Although, ice cream always sounds amazing after a really long day!

Iced coffee!! We have a Dunkin Donuts on every corner, but I never go–I’m too afraid I’d leave with a donut! I stick to Starbucks and Dutch Brothers. Dutch Brothers has the BEST sugar free flavors!

Gatorade should totally use the edible rice paper so you don’t have that issue – LOL I know I totally would have bitten into it…

      Like in Botan Rice Candy!

Hello! Happy days: the paper around the bite is edible! It’s an edible wafer coating (as describes on the Gatorade website). Yay!!! Those Gatorade bites are yummy!!

Um, it’s not paper. It’s an edible “wafer” to keep it together and stop it from sticking to your fingers. I think it’s supposed to be basically tasteless. Check out the video on the Gatorade website (http://www.gatorade.com/default.aspx#g-series-fit?s=g-fit-prime)

I did a review a few months ago on the whole G-Series Fit line – I think it’s a pretty nifty system! (http://activeeggplant.com/2011/303030-workout-g-series-fit)

I LOVE iced coffee. I will most likely continue to order it at cafes through the winter, and people will think I am nuts. Whatever! Haha. I’ve never been to DD but I did hear they are expanding west. Win! I hope SLC gets one.

Those Gatorade bites look interesting. I’ve been eating the mini Luna bars pre-workout, but something with more staying power would be a better alternative.

They’re supposed to be “finger friendly” so you don’t end up with gunk on your fingers right before your workout.

High five! Ate the paper! Yeah, I got them free and thought I overpaid. 🙂 But I think I peeled them off b/c I could on one or two (still not realizing it was paper) and still think they tasted gross. So… with or without… meh.

I love love love DD regular coffee. They recently started making k-cups for the Keurig coffee maker, so I have been drinking those everyday. We gave about 5 DD within a few miles near us, so I spend way to much $ on coffee there!
