Losing the Internet War against Al Gore (rhymes with whore)

Uncategorized

26 Nov

I spent all day fighting with the internet… and I lost.

For some reason after the TV guy came my internet was not cooperating. I would blame him, but it’s more likely that my 6 year old laptop needs to be taken out back and put out of it’s misery. I basically spent over 8 hours today trying to connect to the internet, cussing, restarting, calling the help desk, crying, complaining and restarting again. Ugh.

Mid-afternoon I had a Pumpkin Smoothie in a bowl and a protein bar a little later. The Vega Vanilla Chai powder is a little green so the color is not too pumpkin-y but the taste was!IMG_9609 (800x533)

Our Spatchcock Turkey came out too dry so I decided to make turkey noodle soup with half of it today. I added a few handfuls of this Southern Greens Blend for some extra super-food power.IMG_9610 (800x533)

Served up with garlic toast – I could eat those Garlic Gold Sprinkles straight up! Have you tried them?! So good. I’m sure I reek of garlic now, but I couldn’t stop myself. IMG_9620 (800x533)

I’m tethering internet from my phone to write this post and am about to hand over my lapper to that guy I married to try and fix. But, we all know I need a new laptop (and by “we” I mean “me”). I would have spent all day searching the Cyber Monday sales for a new laptop –> IF MY INTERNET WORKED HELL-O!

So, I think I missed the bus or the boat or the magic carpet and will continue to lug with 22 pound machine with me while I travel. At least it counts as my strength training for the day when I walk around the Atlanta airport with this thing in my arms Smile #MexicanGirlProblems #BloggerProblems

Let me live vicariously through you – Did you score any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals??

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

I hate computer issues, and I hate buying a new one even more. I have been checking out Amazon.com for computer. They have pretty good deals, so it might be worth a look.

Gnc had an awesome sale. I got 7 boxes of power crunch bars plus a free blender ball bottle 67$!!! Amazing 😉

I scored some black Friday/cyber Monday deals but now I feel guilty that I spent so much money!

I only got one good deal, although I wasn’t really looking. I found a book for my daughter that’s supposed to build confidence or some such thing. It was $10 marked down from $25. Although, not sure it was a wise purchase since she’s the cockiest child I’ve ever met. 😉 Sorry your laptop is busted. I bought a new one recently to replace my 3 year old Vaio (<3). I have 5 words for you. DO NOT BUY A DELL.

Boo on computer/internet issues. Nothing is more frustrating.

On your prior post and blue-toenails/losing toenails, have you tried going up a half size in your shoes? I am sure I am one of the lucky few who haven’t experienced a serious toenail melt-down, but I have always attributed it to the fact that I have always liked my running shoes a half-size bigger than any other shoes I buy. I am also OCD about my socks, and after I get them all snug, I hold them around the arch of my foot as I pull the toe box to ensure I have good fit for no blisters, but also room in the toe box!

6 years is a super impressive life for a laptop! And I wish cyber Monday was NEXT week so my bank account had some time to recover after Black Friday. They actually had some really good deals this year.

Is it bad that all of the Black Friday deals I scored were for myself? Race entry, discounts, a new winter jacket, long underwear, running tights and workout programs….just wish I’d had enough money left when that Garmin deal came up!

I really hate when my internet is broken, and it happens a lot at our house. Using the microwave tends to make the internet sad, so you can have one of those, but not both.

I did not find any great sales on Cyber Monday, I feel like I’ve failed at consumerism.

I so suck at computer issues. So the fact you stuck it out for so long is impressive to me. I usually give up after 5 min.

I didn’t do black Friday, small business Saturday or cyber Monday.
      Consumer fail.

Hope you get you computer fixed better yet I hope you get a new one 😉

I saw that southern blend at TJ’s this weekend, and I thought, “OH! Is that what collared greens are?” Southern culture is a mystery to me!

I find it strange when I DON’T have laptop problems because it happens to often. That’s nice you can still blog through your phone though! Yesterday, I bought one thing online and forgot to even use the special code the website was giving out for a percentage off the purchase. So basically, I participated in Cyber Monday, but I completely failed at it.

Computer issues bloooow. Ugh! They always take forever to fix, too!!! I’m on your side– buy a new one (as long as I don’t have to pay for it!!:) ).

I got a few Cyber Monday deals… shoes for me and then a bunch of x-mas gifts. SO MUCH EASIER than black friday shopping (though I did that too, let’s be honest.).

BUT, Cyber Bully Monday emails broke me and I Bath & Body Worked it out!
I can’t resist those damn sales.
But I’m gonna smell so good!

Good luck with your tech probs. Yuck.

I did no shopping! That’s not to say I didn’t look for Cyber Monday deals, but they never seem great to me. I need much more than 15% off to tempt me. Today is Giving Tuesday, the kick off of the charitable giving season. Local animal shelter will be my choice to give to today.

Internet issues do suck especially when you work from home.
Somehow I couldn’t resist the deal Friday on the Garmin. And now Amazon is tempting me with a Dyson. But that would be a gift for a friend.

I have the pure flows in black/blue and I love them!! They are awesome shoes.

Anyways, I’m writing in hopes that you might do a post on exercises. You mentioned at some point recently that you try to strength train in order to work out the parts that don’t get worked out when you run but you need in order to run. Could you post about what these areas are and how to work them? I struggle with pushing to myself to strength train too and narrowing it down would be really helpful for me and I’m sure to other readers too. Even a link to something in existence would be awesome.

      Thanks!

Runners should work their core, back and hamstrings/glutes as part of their cross training. I mentioned some of the moves I did last week here: https://runeatrepeat.com/2012/11/13/strength-training-after-a-marathon/

But, I owe you all more info on this 🙂

No, it was just a reference to the Atlanta airport because I fly Delta a lot (frequent flyer) and their hub is Atlanta. So, I inevitably end up walking around that massive airport hugging my laptop because it kills my shoulder 🙂

I sure hope you did not get UVERSE…Been fighting with them for three months. But, if you do, I have a magic phone number. None of the offers i wanted worked. Free shipping, could not get it to apply so I gave up. I bought a 20 buck a year magazine for 10 bucks. That’s it.

So sorry your computer wasn’t working 🙁

Not to brag, but everything on Express.com was 40% off (love that store) and I got an awesome dress for New Year’s this year! Had to stop there because I would have only shopped for myself and no one else.
