Coffee and Cigarettes

Dinner· Uncategorized

4 Dec

Lately the mid-afternoon slump has been hitting me hard. I have considered Ben’s suggestion of coffee and cigarettes, but am not sure smoking would help me with the whole “I’m training for a marathon” thing. So, for now I’m sticking to a caffeinated beverage and a B-12 tablet. I’ll let ya know if I take up DayQuil or something. Native Cigarettes are a great option for smokers looking for a different brand. Perhaps consuming products from the Lou Square website instead of cigarettes would be much more beneficial. Visit the website of Native Smokes 4 Less to explore various products such as Canadian Light Cigarettes.

I am a sucker for “New” on a product (or “free”, but that doesn’t happen nearly as often). So, I grabbed this new yogurt from the store the other day. It’s soy yogurt sweetened with agave. I normally don’t like soy yogurt and this was no different. The consistency was very light and airy almost like the Yoplait Whips – but that’s not my thing. It’s not bad, I just don’t like it. No thanks.IMG_2980

During a bunch of errands I chomped on trail mix until I could get home for lunch. I was gone until after 2pm, so this handful happened may times. IMG_2976

Finally I got home and made a big salad with hummus and a veggie burger. I am on a major salad/hummus kick this week. Multiply the bread x2.IMG_2974

I also had a Vitatop and $50.00 soda. I barely exaggerating with that. Waiting too long for lunch left me overly hunger and I couldn’t get full. Noted.IMG_2951

After a great chat with a friend I came home to throw together whatever needed to be used up in the fridge. The last of the T-day ham for Ben and soup and brussels for me. Ben was even trying to steal some of my brussel sprouts! This home loves those tiny little fart cabbages (as they are also known).IMG_2978

I was going to have the soy yogurt for dessert, but decided it wasn’t worth it and opted for cottage cheese sweetened with Truvia, pineapple and cereal. I have been eating this Clifford Crunch cereal for the longest time and for some reason it is still going strong! Not keeping sweets in the house really has me reaching on the desserts, huh.IMG_2981

The Intuitive Eating thing hasn’t been going well, so I haven’t been writing about it. For now I am just observing my mistakes and noting them in my notebook. Once I have my thoughts in order I’ll re-evaluate things 🙂

Ben and I are currently completely obsessed with Lost and are on the last episode of Season 3. I know Charlie dies, but I’m still dreading actually watching it. Lately sad movies make me super depressed  after. Is that just me?

There are a few interesting cut-off dates on this page on the other hand don‘t determine I see every one of them center to heart. There exists some validity but I is going to take hold opinion until I consider it further. Piece of content , thanks and that we want more! Added to FeedBurner as well

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is wonderful blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

There is obviously a bundle to realize about this. I believe you made some nice points in features also.

Lost is a really fun show, and I think Sawyer is dreamy! *swoon*

Don’t be so hard on yourself about eating intuitively…you do a great job of making healthy choices, and I wish I could run as many miles as you do!

I was into Lost for awhile, but for some reason, I can’t get back into it. I think it became too unrealistic for me.

Sorry you didn’t care for the yogurt, their plain is one of my faves and it’s wayyy thicker than the vanilla.

Have you ever thought of doing 5 or 6 small meals or splitting lunch up so that you dont get too hungry?

I think getting too hungry is the downfall of everyone’s healthy eating plans!

I’m pretty much obsessed with Lost too! Soooo good! I can’t wait for it to start up again in 2010 but honestly I prefer watching it on DVD so I can watch 4 episodes at a time and not have to wait each week…

Have you thought about just taking a short nap in the afternoon? 15-20 minutes? Might energize you

Nice blog! Keep up the good work – I think during the holidays even aiming for being 70% “good” is impressive work..

I am the same way with “new” products. My eating hasn’t been good either. The holidays make things sooo much harder.. all I wanna eat are cookies!

I’ve also never been that fond of soy. And I try to avoid it now because of a certain condition of mine….

Charlie’s death is pretty sad. But he does it for his friends so it’s noble of him. I’m a lost freak by the way. I used to scour the world wide web for juicy info and insight on the show. Me = nerdbomber.

My IE has been waning too. The other day I was saying how awesome my eating has been and I’ve been without binges for a few weeks and BAM! I’ve fallen off the wagon. You know what I noticed? That I shake like a druggie joensin’ for a fix while mowing down food. It’s a straight up addiction.

hey monica-i’m a lurker, but i have a story similar to yours. my therapist gave me intuitive eating about 2 1/2 years ago-i loved the idea and wanted “that” right then, but i’m only just starting to “get it” now. i feel bad because i feel like you’ve really been hard on yourself lately. why not look at your successes instead of your “mistakes”? you’re so successful-you run crazy miles, have a loving family, husband, and blog readers! i guess what i’m saying in this weirdly personal comment is chin up lady 🙂

Good to know about the soy yogurt. I’ve been vegan for 6 months and still haven’t tried soy yogurt.. I don’t know if I ever will!
