Three Ingredient Pancakes Recipe

three ingredient pancakes recipe [4]

The two ingredient pancake has been circling the internet for years now. Well, before that recipe I created my own two ingredient pancake.

And today I added a third not so secret ingredient to make a delicious three ingredient pancake!

WP_20140825_13_35_58_Pro (800x450)[4]

Three Ingredient Pancake Recipe

{serves one – whole grain – gluten free with gluten free oats}

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet oatmeal – I use low sugar Maple Brown Sugar (get gluten free packets if you’re into that sorta thing)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 heaping TB Peanut Butter – softened in microwave for few seconds

Directions: Blend ingredients in blender for 10 seconds. Stir, blend again. Place batter in heated greased skillet. Cook. Eat.

Tip: Don’t check the pancake or flip it too early. Let it cook on the first side for a few minutes to set and carefully flip.

Enjoy!

Question: Do you do pancakes during the week or ‘save’ it for the weekend?

Thank you for this recipe! It is very good. I actually prefer these over standard pancakes. I prepare them in a slightly different way, though. I figured that instead of blending the ingredients every time I make the recipe, I could just run a bunch of oatmeal packets through the food processor to get a coarse flavored oatmeal flour, keep that in a ziploc ready to use, and when I want some pancakes I just measure out the equivalent of one packet of ground oatmeal, add the egg and the PB and mix by hand in a small bowl. It works fine and no blender to wash!

This sounds good!! I’m not a huge pancake eater but I need to switch up my breakfasts. Question – do you think it would work just as well with regular quick cook oats vs the package? You know, since I have all these oats to use up 🙂

Yes, as long as they are quick cook. But I’m not sure the measurements.

I haven’t had pancakes in so long I can’t remember…sadness. So hard with needing GF and egg free. I might try these ones with a flax egg and see what happens. I love that they look like actual pancakes unlike all the paleo “pancakes” which are JUST EGGS PEOPLE…do I seem annoyed

Love this recipe! 2 ingredient egg and banana pancakes always turn out terribly for me, this looks much easier to cook. I only wish maple brown sugar oatmeal were a thing in my country though, I’m going to just have to make do with maple syrup as a topping I think!

I just can’t get on board with a healthy pancake. Mine have to be made out of flour and eggs and butter. But the photo with the syrup and bananas really is stellar. 😉
I try and save pancakes for special occasions and long run days. But I’m a pancake a holic and find myself eating them alone on weekdays.

I tried it without oatmeal and with banana instead like the original 2 ingredient pancake recipe and it falls apart. You might want to replace the oats with another type of flour.
