Everything I Ate This Weekend… We’re going to pretend

My Life· What Runners Eat

everything i ate this weekend (450x800)

Happy Monday! This weekend I went a little crazy with the eats. But that’s what weekends are for, right? (Just say yes, thanks.)

Kidding but you know red hair don’t care – especially when it comes to chocolate cake anything.

i love cake

Last night I went to Lucille’s.

Pro tip: A while back I bought one of those Costco Gift Cards for Lucille’s costs $80.00 for a $100.00 gift card. #boom

This was some kind of Peach Slushie situation with alcohol. Do it do it.

If eating 6 biscuits is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

the best biscuits (800x600)

Salad for my main course… I’m not a big meat eater.

the best salad (800x600)

But I am a big chocolate eater so I was all over the Best Chocolate Cake. It’s like a religious experience..

the best chocolate cake (800x600)

This morning I decided to get it together and did 8 miles. I was sportin my new blue Mizunos. These are super light weight and I love them.

Post-run breakfast of egg whites, turkey bacon and toast.

And now I’m trying to talk myself up to tackling my inbox.  See you in a bit!

Question: What was the BEST thing you ate this weekend?

If it’s better than that chocolate cake I had I’ll clap for you (not that you would know, but I will).

I ran my first 10K yesterday. At the post-race brunch, I ordered an omelet with a side of tater tots, but the highlight of my meal was the grilled english muffin slathered in butter. I could easily have eaten a half dozen of those muffins and ignored the eggs. So simple but SO perfectly delish.

I am not proud, but I drunk-ate a milkshake from this southern place called Cookout, and it was to die for. Probably can’t ever step on a scale again for the shame, but it was AMAZING.

What kind of Mizunos have you got? They look super minimalist!

My favourite eats was a homemade Reese’s peanut butter cookie cake. WIth homemade vanilla icecream. Awesome!

I was at a mini family reunion this weekend which consisted of a LOT of food. Homemade brick oven pizzas, seared tuna, BBQ grill fest, breakfast for days, you name it we had it. Good thing I have that run planned tomorrow…

I went apple picking and made an awesome apple crisp. Question: What line of Mizunos are those? I’m thinking of switching up my brand of shoes (I’m currently wearing Brooks) and the Wave Rider 18’s are calling my name. Any thoughts?

I had Country Fried Steak this weekend! I always shy away from fried, gravy, and steak, but for some reason it sounded good. I’m a convert. Going to have to remember how unhealthy that was…

There might have been a very indulgent sushi eating fest that took place during my weekend. I am still feeling that one. Oh well Saturdays don’t count in my book!

This weekend was full of a lot of delicious food. It’s hard to pick one thing as my favorite, but I’ll go with the cheesecake I had last night at an Italian restaurant. Yay for desserts!

Biscuits are my favorite food group!
OK so the best thing I ate hands down was the lobster tail pastry (sfogliatella) i got from Carlo’s bakery (the cake boss). So amazing.

I also had lots and lots and lots and (well you get the point) lots of sangria but it was made with apple juice and had a cinnamon stick in it for a seasonal twist =)

I actually had nachos at the movie theater last night with that fake cheese, sour cream, olives, and jalapeños while seeing Gone Girl – I was happy to be shoveling them into my face under cover of darkness but you know what? They were awesome.

Lobster roll on a buttered bun. YUM! There are 2 things that New England will win at every time. Lobster rolls and fall foliage and this weekend I got both.

Also had large amounts of booze as my bff turned 35, good weekend.

Friday during our pre-half-marathon dinner outing my friends and I stopped by an Italian bakery in Baltimore (Vaccaro’s) and picked up some cannoli and hazelnut gelato. The cannoli were really good, but the gelato was on a level previously unknown to me – I practically fell to my knees in the middle of the street praising the dessert gods for this magical creation. Dude, it was really really good.

I had a bit of a yolo weekend too – chocolate cake with cookies & cream ice cream for dessert at my friend’s dinner party yesterday. 😀
But that wasn’t even the best thing I ate all weekend, went out for fried rice on Saturday – it came with pork, huge prawns, pineapple, chili and lime. Quite sad I’m not eating it right now, it was seriously the most amazing plate of food!

Chocolate peanut butter cup froyo from menchies with crumbled Reese cups, Reese’s pieces, cheesecake bites, hot fudge and pb topping. My pancreas is pissed….but it helped drown my sorrows for the 20 min it took me to devour it.
