Run Eat Repeat

A NEW Product for the Bacon Obsessed…

My Life· Running· What Runners Eat

Hello!! How’s your weekend? Life? Internet? Level of freezing-ness?

I have a race tomorrow so I only did a four mile shake-out run this morning. I really really love doing my long runs on Saturday mornings so it feels a little weird/disappointing in my tiny black heart when I can’t keep my routine.

In other news – this is FROST!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! Told you it was cold here.

frost in ca

Breakfast was a whole lotta eggs and ketchup and Sriracha.

breakie (800x600)

Lunch was a big salad, miso soup and 22 drinks. Gotta hydrate!!

all the food (600x800)

When we were in Vegas to get sloppy mcslopperson drunk for the RNR Las Vegas Half Marathon I put the lil clips in my hair that I always use to keep my bangs out of my face. My cousin thought I was being funny because I just like throw them in my hair wherever. She seriously thought I was making a joke because I looked like such a tragedy!! Ha!

Nope. This is just me being a Monican.

Vegas takes the rules of pre-race day seriously: Rest, rest rest your legs!

In food news – I found this new Jalapeno Yogurt Dip at Trader Joes. Lalalalove it. It’s NOT spicy at all, but it is very cream cheesy and delicious.

You know I LOVE Sriracha, but I didn’t buy this new Sweet Sriracha Bacon Jerky because I’m the one person on earth who doesn’t want to dive into a pool of bacon happiness.

Question: On a scale from 1 – 10: How much do you like bacon?

1= you prefer sausage or fried kale or whatever

10= you would sell your mom for 2 pieces of bacon

hmmm I’d say I’m a 5? I like it but only certain types. It’s gotta be super duper crispy or else I’m not a fan.

I’m about a 9+ in the how much I love it category. I always cook mine in the oven to avoid the splattery mess, but the smell still permeates the house. I don’ t it very often and can usually contain myself to 2-3 slices. It’s good, it’s real, it’s not leaving my life anytime soon. 😀

I love bacon! However, bacon jerky is nasty. The best part of bacon is the crunch and bacon jerky tastes how Beggin’ Strips smell… You know, the dog treats.

Im really not a big fan of bacon at all. I will eat it very rarely. Just not my thing I guess.

I wear those clips in my hair too when I get ready for bed and then usually I am too lazy to take them out so I sleep in them and wake up to my hair looking a hot mess. This morning it had turned into a giant poof and I looked like I was from the 80s. It was hot.

Hey I also clip my hair that way too…and with those same clips (except mine are black). And I do that in the office (LOL!) to keep my hair outta my face.

Maybe 4 pieces of bacon if they were all perfectly crispy

I will take kale chips. I make my son and husband cook the bacon on the grill outside. I don’t like the lingering smell, or the mess…

I’m definitely a bacon fan. Bacon in shredded brussels is SO good. I’d say I’m somewhere around a 6 on the bacon loving scale. I don’t die without it.

Bacon is “eh”. Prosciutto on the other hand, especially in the company of some figs and balsamic glaze — bring it on!

I’m probably a 5 on the bacon scale. While I enjoy it (and would happily eat it every day) I do enjoy having it with other foods… e.g. with eggs, or a salad, or my dessert. Unfortunately I have come to understand that bacon is best when it’s highlighting other foods!

I am the same way, I like the taste of bacon but I don’t feel like I gain anything from it, it doesn’t make me feel full when I am done but I ate enough calories so I should be full, I don’t know if that makes sense or not. It’s just not enough bang for the buck :).

LOL! As a vegetarian, I’ve never quite understood the whole bacon obsession. I know I liked it when I did eat meat but I’m not sure I liked it THAT much!

Oh man bacon makes everything better! I would give it an 8 though. I have to knock it down 2 points just for the splattering.

I can’t stand bacon, so a 1. My family makes fun of me for it because my brothers are obsessed with it and put it on everything! Ugh. I’ll trade your cold for ours here in Chicago. I’d kill for your kind of cold. Going down to single digits this week, brrrrrrrrrrr…….

I love bacon! But its so messy to cook and expensive that I never buy it. I need the package to come with someone to cook it and clean up the mess.

Before I became a vegetarian I loved bacon. My husband makes this type of baked bacon that’s sweet and spicy and amazing. But thankfully it’s almost very time consuming and he hasn’t made it recently 😉

Let’s go 5. I like it, it’s tasty, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite thing in the world. Kale and sausage are both good too. 🙂

I’ve had bacon jerky, and honestly? I’d rather just have a nice piece of crispy bacon. You’re not missing much.

1 – I don’t like bacon…I do love sausage though! My husband thinks I’m a weirdo. I will eat small amounts of bacon if it’s on a cobb salad or something, but I don’t go out of my way to eat it.

The joke at my house is that on my husband’s birthday I do that one special thing that wives do for their spouses… cook bacon. I can’t stand it. The way the grease spatters, the smell that lingers, the chewy fatty parts… Ew.

I am a vegetarian, so no bacon for me. However, I WILL say that the other day, that I smelled some bacon in my building and slightly wanted some because it smelled so good. I think if I ate meat, I might quite like it!
