Run Eat Repeat

You know what really gets me down?

My Life

Gravity.

that time I fell

I fell. Yep, totally ate sh!t on my run this morning. I fall about three times a year so I am at least happy I can cross one off my list.

Pre-run OJ. Super pulp style. Just like I like it.

oj before run (600x800)

It all started out as a really good run too. I stopped and smelled the flowers…

pretty smelling flowers (800x600)

What are these white flowers? They really smell pretty! I stuffed some in my bra as natural perfume.

look what the humidity does to me (450x800)

(Look what the humidity does to my hair though – that’s just the ends!)

And then I was just running along, thinking about life, liberty and the pursuit. I didn’t even use my music today.

looking for manatees in florida (800x600)

When I run by a little inlet or body of water I stop and look for manatees. And one of the times when I started back up to run again I restarted my gps watch and began to run without noticing the sidewalk had a little ridge.

And I did one of those DRAMATIC FALLS like in the movies. Except, since I was fussing with my watch and stuff my hands weren’t in a good place to break my fall and I hit on my chest pretty hard (random, right?).

So, my knee and hands are a little banged up but I feel like my neck is weird since I yanked it up so I wouldn’t crash face first into the ground.

RIP Monican.

gravity really gets me down (600x800)

When I got back I nursed myself back to health with fruit and chocolate. It’s the only way…

fruit bowl for my tears (800x600)

Later I went to Home Depot with Ben’s mom and this sign mocked me… Thanks.

dont trip in florida (600x800)

This is me falling:

me falling again[3] me falling[3]

You win this round, gravity!

damn you gravity (600x800) now i need a neck brace

Question: Orange Juice – pulp or no pulp?

When was the last time you fell?

      No pulp for me please!
Our dog tripped me a few years ago when he was a pup and I went flat out and face down…….worst part was the girl running towards me just carried on as if this was part of my workout.

I fell a few weeks ago running in the park, but I recently moved to Scotland and it rains every m-f day the pavement is covered in a moss-like film a lot of the time. I just sort of stayed on my back laugh/crying and being grateful I didn’t break my teeth or phone.

      Also, love the Snookie gifs.

I fell today too! Except I was on my bike trying to turn around. I un-clipped one foot to put my foot down and missed and kept going on the soft shoulder. Apparently my bike does not ride well on the soft gravel and down I went! I usually fall at least once every year while running too.

I can totally relate to this! I had one of those dramatic falls one time while running with my dogs. It is pretty amazing how many people stop for you when you have 2 huskies keep going after your fall… they pull you just like a sled on the snow, except you get to experience the feeling of being dragged on asphalt until they realize what happened. Not fun at all if you ask me…

OMG I fall all the time! Yesterday I was out for a run and got PUSHED over by a dog, fell into the mud, and ruined a lululemon shirt. Worst run ever.

That is jasmine! It starts to bloom like RIGHT NOW for a few months and then it’s dormant throughout the winter. I just ran past a sidewalk full of it….it was LOVELY!

The GOOD thing about your fall is that you weren’t wearing pants, cuz then they would have been ruined!

Ohhh man, I feel your pain. I took a pretty good spill last year, and while the knees definitely stung, it was the scraped up palms that were the worst! Take care of yourself! Chocolate will definitely help 🙂

That’s what I’m always afraid of, especially when I’m running in a new place! So many things to stare at and so many flowers to smell that I pay zero attention on lifting my feet properly up from the ground. Hope you’re fine!

Ouch! Hope you feel better soon. Neck pain is, well a pain in the neck so I hope it goes away soon!

My last fall while running was a couple winters ago when I still lived in Iowa. I think I had chipped a piece of bone off b/c it felt like a loose tooth in my elbow for awhile – like some weird tiny thing floating around in there.

I also feel off my bike in 2011 and broke my ankle. It sucked and I got depressed b/c I couldn’t work out for quite awhile.

I fell twice last year within about two months so I’m good for a while. The second time I fractured the radial head in my right elbow…no bueno. 🙁

No pulp at all! And I just fell a month ago I still ran the 4 miles back to my house before going to Urgent Care. My stitches are out but I have some scary scars on my leg and a small bump on my chin thats still fading 🙁 Seriously considering the kneepads I used to wear roller blading lol

I fell off my stand up paddleboard a few months back… twice. That was fun. 🙂

I can take or leave the pulp but my husband HAAAATES it so we always go sans pulp if we get OJ (which isn’t that often).

I fell at the gym recently, trying to stand on one leg with my eyes closed and balance for a minute (I was doing research for a blog post about other ways to measure physical fitness). I laughed at myself but I bruised my fanny so there was that to deal with when I got home.

And I fell out of the car yesterday in the parking lot at walmart. Because I rushed to get out. I completely tripped over the foot step thing. The worst part was that I landed on a cart and sort of rolled a bit until it crashed into the cart coral.
I can’t even make this stuff up. I’m the queen of falling down.
