Hello! How are you doing? Between my health plan video and stretching for runners post I feel like we haven’t had the chance to just catch up on life this week. It’s mostly been the usual running and eating stuff, but those are my favorite things so I don’t like to skip sharing ‘em.
First. California has decided not to cool down for Fall after all. Monday was cool and drizzly so I was excited for cooler running weather. Nope.
Luckily I only had about 6 miles on the agenda since I have a long run tomorrow.
When I got home I had the only fruit in my house, this random lonely orange. I bought an extra one when I needed oranges for a recipe, but it’s not a fruit I usually buy. Is that weird? Don’t oranges and runners and people with orange hair go together??
In an effort to maintain a balanced diet I got a kombucha at the health foods store.
But I also stopped at the normal grocery store for a few things and saw this flavored vodka on sale, so I had to try it.
I don’t know if they balance each other out or cancel each other out or just make my body confused, but that’s how I do it.
I also maintain balance by watching reality TV AND keeping up with all the latest election news (which is as dramatic as housewives, but whatever).
I am not obsessed with ‘pumpkin everything’, but I am obsessed with ‘pumpkin some things’.
Like, I haven’t had a pumpkin spice latte (ever) but I do get excited about pumpkin spiced Cheerios and Puffins. That’s partly because I am a fan of cereal in general – so if you add in a seasonal or limited time option I buy out the whole store.
Fun fact: I think my favorite seasonal item is actually not pumpkin at all!
The Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea is the best thing ever ever ever. I drink tea most nights and when this is available I swap out one of my Sleepy Time bags for a cookie one. I make a big mug that has 2 or 3 tea bags – anyone else do this?
As soon as I get home I change into comfy clothes and put my hair up in a messy bun. I think this is 100% normal, but do you do it? I was just thinking about this because I just realized my mom doesn’t and I don’t think Cindy does either? Hmmm.
Please chime in on all the things I do so I know if I’m a weirdo or it’s normal or we’re both weirdos…

Best part of my day is coming home, putting on comfy clothes (including bra removal…ahhh…) and having a snack. Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride is the BEST – but I hoard mine and only use one bag / cup. And even then, I try to get multiple (weaker) cups out of one bag over the course of the evening. Tis almost the season! 😀

Oh my gosh I am so bad with that tea – I use two tea bags and sometimes make two mugs of that at night. I should just buy a case!

Pumpkin candle is the only thing I like.
Comfy clothes and hair back within 20 minutes of getting home. So much so my backyard neighbor saw me in my work clothes the other day, she caught be before changing and said oh you dressed up today, ha or sigh….

I quit working a year ago to stay home with my baby, and I live in either running clothes or my comfies. No one even knows how long my hair is these days, it is always in a bun. I think I’ve officially given up!
Kathy says
No to pumpkin everything…only muffins and maybe loaf but that’s more about the icing. I tried a Pumpkin Latte at a super cute little cafe near me because they made it with actual pumpkin puree so I thought maybe but…hhhaaaaarff! So Gross.
I can NOT get out of my clothes and into comfies fast enough when I get home and I think people who wear real clothes at home are possibly robots or serial killers. My sister takes off her fancy work clothes and puts on JEANS….and…a BELT! She’s not right

I like Pumpkin some things. I usually only use 1 tea bag. oh yea, my pants usually come off the minute i get home and i change into comfy clothes
adrianna says
i really hate tea, but the sugar cookie sleigh ride is THE BEST! i wait all year for it so i can buy tons of boxes and have it every night, too. on the look out now…
messy bun and comfy clothes are immediate for me. in fact, many times i’m undressing as i’m walking up the stair to my apt after work, thats how much i dislike ‘regular’ clothes.
you’re super normal.
Katherine says
I usually like pumpkin some things but sometimes I like pumpkin everything. My hair goes into a messy bun to go with my sweats (if it’s not already in one) and I use 2 tea bags when I’m feeling sassy… but usually just one. 🙂 paradoxical, no?
Deb says
Some things, but usually only made with real pumpkin – don’t like the fake flavor.
Yes, hate weak tea.
Heck, yeah. And the bra off for sure.
Jenny says
Pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin cheerios, pumpkin butter yessssss! And Yes to hair goes up as soon as I get home.
DebJo says
Nah, not a pumpkin girl. I really feel like I’m missing out this time of year when EVERYTHING is pumpkin.
Yep, when I’m home for the night it’s shower, shampoo and comfy clothes. If I’m just home for a while, it’s comfy clothes. Home = comfort!
Tracy says
Pumpkin some-things.
Yes! Always 2-3 tea bags. Love Sugar cookie and my other Celestial favorite is Candy Cane Lane!
First thing I do when I get home is change into jammies and take contacts out!
Richard Wall says
I do put on my grubbies when I get home, but the hair’s too short to put up.
I like pumpkin pie, but not much else pumpkin-y stuff. Although, I haven’t tried the cereals. I loves me some cereal:).
Only one tea bag per cup for me.
You’re probably not weird, but your knocking on weird’s door, but in a good way:).
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I don’t like pumpkin spice anything. But I do like cinnamon and nutmeg in pie or in my coffee all year round 🙂
My hair usually goes up before I even leave the house. I just struggle with it so much it is the quickest way to deal
laura leane says
messy bun and take out my contacts as soon as my pants are off! lol
you’re always talking about your moderations; pumpkin spice moderation ftw! i only eat trader joe’s pumpkin butter, tdf.
Susie says
I’m for pumpkin some-things. I like pumpkin pies, muffins, breads, and granola… but pretty much everything else is a no go for me.
I like really weak tea, so only one tea bag for me. Even when I make a whole pot! LOL!
Have you ever had roasted barley tea? It’s super Korean, and a taste I got from my mom, but I only use two teaspoons of barley for a huge kettle full. Normally my mom will use a cup of barley!
Also, I’m a total advocate for getting completely comfy as soon as you get home. If my day’s over, I’m washing my face and putting on PJ’s — even if that’s a 1pm.

Pumpkin everythangggg! My pumpkin favs include pumpkin macarons and pumpkin cookie butter from TJs (swoon <3), pumpkin pie fitjoy protein bars, pumpkin fiberone bars, and microwaved canned pumpkin w/ lots of pumpkin spice seasoning, cinnamon, and sweetener.
