I’m a (Fairy) Godmother

My Life

16 Aug

Hello!! I had a big event this weekend!! My niece’s baptism and I am her fairy godmother! But first, I ran and ate. It is HOT. Anyone else really struggling out there?

Yesterday after my run I headed to my fam’s house for a bit. Then, we headed to the church for the baptism. I am super honored and lucky and happy to be one of her godparents. I love this kid.

It was very hot yesterday and she was a really good sport in her dress.

After the services we went to a Mexican restaurant for some food and adult beverages. I hung out with her and we walked around the place and went outside and chatted about cereal.

No food pictures because I was busy. You know how that goes. But the drink of the day was Micheladas. I am not a fan since I don’t like beer or bloody marys but have you ever had one?

Question: What was the BEST part of your weekend?

Best part of the weekend is 2, going to the D23 expo and having snow white love my skirt and running in Anaheim which is a good 20 degrees cooler than Houston. Yay LA!

LOVE micheladas. They aren’t really a think on the east coast, but whenever I visit friends in San Francisco, we go to Hecho in the Castro for brunch just so I can order their michelada verde. It’s made with cucumbers, tomatillo, cilantro and jalapeno instead of just regular bloody mary mix and it is sooooo good.

ugh it’s been SO hot. I started my run yesterday at 445 am because it was 103 degrees here. Very grateful I had work yesterday at my running store, it meant I was getting paid to be in air conditioning, rather than paying for a/c at home!!

I had a GREAT Saturday. Relaxing day, worked out, got my nails done, had a great bike ride. Today was not so good. Went for a LONG bike ride after church. Got a horrible cramp in my right calf 18 miles in, which took an hour to go away. Then in the last 7 miles of the ride, I fell off my bike. Was fiddling with my phone because I have a portable charger and it wasn’t working. Lost control of my bike and went flat on my @$$ and slammed my head on the pavement. I got up and made sure no one ran me or my bike over and then took a few minutes to recover. I really should have called my husband to get me, but I felt like I’d be quitting if I did. Came home and cried for 15 minutes. So glad I have yesterday to look back on!!
