Bagel-fuls!

This morning I tried Kraft Bagel-fuls Whole Grain. I heard about these when they first came out and was really curious to give them a whirl. I normally try to stay away from super processed foods like this, but I figured one package wouldn’t kill me. I love bagels and cream cheese, but normally stay away from this breakfast because it is high in calories and low in protein and fiber. But, since Whole Grain Bagel-fuls have 180 calories, 3g fiber and 7g protein I knew I could add something with fiber and/or protein to round out my breakfast.
I ate it with 3 egg whites for protein staying power! All you have to do to make them is pop them in the toaster or microwave straight from the refrigerator. Mine came from the freezer so I had to put it in the toaster to get a little crispy, and then put it in the micro because the cream cheese was still a little frozen in the middle. That was my fault though.

Here is a gooe-y inside picture.

My review: I liked them. They are not too big or too small. They are pretty satisfying if you are craving a bagel and cream cheese, but don’t want to eat a 400 calorie bagel and 100 cals of cream cheese. This is a good deal for 180 calories. I liked the soft and chewy texture of the outer bagel and it still had a slightly harder exterior like normal bagels. The built in portion control is nice too if you normally slop on too much cream cheese on your bread. Overall I would say they are good. I don’t know if I would buy them again soon, just because I try to fill up on fiber and protein and calcium with breakie, but that’s just me. I think they are a once in a while breakfast food and are nice for variety.

I would recommend making these in the toaster for best results. Also: be careful while eating them – the cream cheese squeezes out of the end! Even though these look like a “grab’n go” food they can be messy. Make sure to eat it over a plate or wrapped in a napkin.

Enjoy!

      Hi Sara,
Yes, I am happy to try out any food regardless of calorie count. I feel it is my duty to the blog world 😉 Ha, No seriously though I’m glad these babies are not too damaging nutrition-wise.

Great review! I’ve seen these in the store, but assumed they were high cal and high fat so I never tired them. Maybe now I’ll have to! 🙂
