Hello and Happy Tuesday!
I started my day with a tempo run. I don’t dig speed work, but know I have to get back to training now that I’m recovered from the LA marathon. So, a tempo run is a nice compromise.
Then, I made a breakfast oatmeal cookie. Super healthy and delicious! Recipe coming soon.Run Eat Repeat via Instagram
The third part of Aveeno’s Beautiful Change Challenge is about Mind and Spirit. I have been super busy with the blog and traveling lately – I do feel off balance for sure!
I think it’s time to reassess my 2013 goals and get back on track. First, I want to focus on healthy eating and cut back on sugar/sugar substitutes. I drank too much in Vegas so a nice lil’ detox is in order. Nothing major, just a focus back on healthy eating.
Like cherries. Yeah, when does cherry season start?! #Love
Second I need to start training for the Born to Run 30 miler! Ahhhh! That is scary. I still can’t believe I signed up for it. What was I thinking?!
I know it’s just supposed to be for fun, but I also don’t want to die. Today I’m going to research a few ultra training plans and just pick one. I don’t have time to avoid it – the race is only 7 weeks away!
Getting organized will help my mind feel better – so I’m on it!
Also, this Sunday is Easter and I’m looking forward to getting to church and praying hard for Vegas forgiveness to get my lil’ heart and spirit feeling healthy.
Because I’m pretty sure wearing this much makeup is a sin… I know. I’m sorry.
Question: What can you do for yourself this week to help get your Mind and Spirit feeling healthy?

I’ve cut back on the amount of sugar substitute that I put in my morning coffee. I still need to get back on track with stretching.

even if the makeup is a sin you look smokin! and your baby pic it too cute!

How did I miss that you signed up for an ultra?! that is awesome/terrifying. But you are kicking running’s butt lately so I am sure you will be amazeballs.
runeatrepeat says
I seriously signed up for it at midnight one random Friday. I don’t know what I was thinking 🙂
Elizabeth @ Positive Change says
Great tempo run! Drinking lots of water is always my way of “detoxing” 🙂
Lauren says
Is toddler Monica dressed as sailor moon!??!!? 🙂
runeatrepeat says
I don’t know?! I’m going to ask my mom 🙂

Caitlin HTP wrote a post about add healthy choices instead of taking away everything “bad.” It really struck a cord with me because that seems like a healthy way to do it.
Sue says
Am cutting down sugar and salt; hopefully every little bit helps with my stress fracture recovery.
Jac @ Challenged & Running in the Bike Lane says
I can’t wait for cherry season!!!

I’m looking forward to hearing about your Born to Run 30-Miler. Way cool! Happy Easter!

I got the stomach flu the other day and so I spent 3 days in bed. It was awful but my shins and hips have never felt better. This week has been like an accidental detox for me.
runeatrepeat says
Boo. Feel better 🙂

30 miler that’s awesome! Good luck.
I am friend with a pretty awesome woman
who has done a 100miler o_O
She just finished this major run in the desert of Mexico.
That one was a 50 miler.
If you have time check out her blog.

I definitely need to get my goals and priorities back in order
can’t believe it is about to be April!
What I can do for myself is just try my best to just relax, refocus, and de-stress!

I’ve been trying to cook more instead of grabbing food on campus and fast food restaurants. I stick to a mostly vegan diet, and try to eat more raw foods.
I’ve also started doing a bit of yoga in the morning. Nothing too fancy, just a 10 or so minute sun salutation first thing. It feels great to stretch in the morning and wakes me up!

Wow a 30 miler! I can’t think past 13.1 right now. Good luck — planning always makes me feel better about it all!

Nice tempo run girl. I did my first track workout this morning. I ran 6 x 800 and 4 of them got pretty fast 3:07 – 3:16. I’m not letting you run away from me (literally). As for Born to Run 50k, I just released a simple training program yesterday that started Monday and goes to race day. The BTR info is at the bottom of the post along with an elevation chart and map. I really need to do the healthy eating thing again- I have an afternoon sugar craving that I need to get rid of!

Spring makes me think of fresh starts. And I am ready for one! Or at least I will be as soon as I get this cast off.
Becky @ Olives n Wine says
I’m doing a whole foods “detox” for the next two weeks. After a vacay and too much sugary rum drinks, it is needed! I am also doing a no-spend April which will be good for my mind and spirit – I don’t need to buy half of the stuff I currently do 🙂
Christine @ BookishlyB says
I’m kicking spring break off Friday afternoon with a massage.

Luckeeeeee.

We could probably all use a little renewed spirit…Vegas or no Vegas :p I barely run 3 miles right now…cannot even begin to imagine 30 :0/
Laura says
Getting organized is something I seriously need to focus on this week and it will really help me center myself more than anything. With so much going on in life it’s hard to stay on track sometimes.

Who is the guy???

so none of my business, but where’s ben? Please tell me to eff off if you want. 🙂
you know when you read blogs and you get to “know” the blogger….you wonder 🙂
runeatrepeat says
Ben is around. I just don’t blog about him that much any more. I kinda did it on purpose after a few mean comments and then it just stayed that way.
Martha says
I was wondering about Ben too… glad he is around 🙂

I’m all down for a refresher trip to church – especially with spring on the way and Easter here 🙂 For me this week, it’s got to be all about the eating. Birthday season is coming up for friends and family, so I’ve got to find a way to compromise and still get thing back to where they need to be!
Katrina@Katrina Runs for Food says
First, you look amazing!
Second, I’m on spring break this week (teacher) and I’m way too excited about having time for longer runs and more crossfit workouts. I am not doing one single thing work-related and I’m sleeping until I’m tired of sleeping 🙂
Mary says
Will be interested to see your 30 miler training plan. I’ve got my first ultra a month after my marathon and nobody seems to be able to give much advice as to what to do inbetween!
jodea @ chillichocolatelove.com says
I would say cut back on one of my four social engagements but it’s too late for that! Detox next week :S
Elizabeth- My Neon Running Shoes says
You will rock that 30 miler! I can’t wait to hear how it goes!!! Have a great Easter 🙂
Ja @Athlete Within Ja says
I like the praying part. It’s holy week so it’s this time of the year to reflect on sins and ask for forgiveness. 🙂
Have a blessed Holy Week 🙂
