Chandra, from Chandra’s Shenanigans recently sent me the Blogging Pants. This concept was started by Faith, and was inspired by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Now these pants travel from blogger to blogger passing on positive words 🙂
Rules of the pants (some borrowed from the book):
- Be your beautiful self and live vivaciously! Have fun!
- You must never say the word “phat. You must never think to yourself “I am fat.”
- Remember, pants=love. Love your pals, love yourself.
- Write your quote, blog, take your pict and send it to me, and choose another blogger to send it on!
My quote on the pants is taken from my favorite inspirational saying from a Nike Ad:
“All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you’re not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you’re the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no’s become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly.
AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES.” –Unknown, Nike Ad
I wrote, “You will tell them Yes!” on the pants. This mantra is something I say to myself when I’m running or just trying to overcome a challenge. I love it.
I want to say thank you so much to Chandra for sending me the pants. I got them (with a sweet note) at a time when I was really down and out. I don’t think she realized how much I needed them 🙂
Now I will pass on the Blogging Pants to Caitlin, from Healthy Tipping Point. I really believe she has represented the “anti-fat talk” message of the pants via Operation Beautiful. I truly appreciate all the work she has done to end fat talk and help spread the word positive self talk.
