Ben brought home two massive pieces of delicious looking cake today! We have to find an anniversary cake because our wedding site somehow managed to slice up and serve our top tier even though the contract stated we ordered more than enough cake for everyone so I could have two slices plus the anniversary layer.
Even talking about this breaks my heart because the day was very frazzling in general. But I digress…
He brought home two different flavors for us to sample so we could see if this is the bakery we should order the cake from. Cake is very important for celebrating. Especially because I repeatedly said, “I am only getting married so I can be guaranteed cake in a year.” True.
But, before we enjoyed the cake and dinner we took a 4 mile walk. I call it a Cake Walk if you will.
I actually have done a cake walk at our annual summer Fiesta at my elementary school. No, we didn’t have a carnival, it was a fiesta because I’m Mexican, duh.
Anyways, for those that don’t know it’s basically like musical chairs except you are walking on certain spots and when the music stops they choose a winner. That person gets to choose a cake! Fun!
And now I am eating Chocolate Decadence Cake with chocolate mousse filling covered in buttercream…
And Amaretto Raspberry Cake: almond cake filled with a layer of amarreto buttercream and european raspberry filling covered with buttercream icing.
If I die tonight, know I died happy…
Oh! So Magic Bullet couldn’t decide on only 4 winners and picked 13!!! Can you believe it?! Here they are:
Rebecca at How the Cookie Crumbles
Melissa for the Honey Almond Smoothie
Marie with Figgy Almond Smoothie
Marci with Chocolate Almond milk
Johanna – Smoothies inspired by Jamaica
Beth – chopped strawberries, not measured, always a lot
Becky’s Smoothiegasm
Carly – Smoothies are king in our abode.
Heather – who’s fave smoothies right now are anything green
Tay for her submission of pumpkin smoothie or cheesecake pudding mix smoothie
Fallon – Green Mocha Smoothie
Carolyn – my go to smoothie
Shannon – I’m worried mine is too boring, but I love it!

Oh yay! I won. I’m so excited.
here’s my wedding cake story – my husband and I got married last year in Jamaica (May 14, to be exact). We got to pick our cake – we went with traditional white and it was delicious! We had to hurry and get going on our pictures due to a pending rainstorm so they whisked our cake away and told us we could take it home with us when we left.
Well, to make a long story short, the day we left our cake was MIA. We each got one tiny weensie bite of our wedding cake and NOTHING to bring home. The resort promised to make it up to us on our next trip down (which hopefully will be next year) but still – no wedding cake top!
Anyway – great to see I won and Thanks So Much!!

I love wedding cake. Last night I went to a 40th Birthday bash and she had a Tiffany Birthday Cake. You know the blue box! All decked out and it reminded me of wedding cake. Looked like that chocolate slice you posted. 😉

I. Love. Cake.
Those two pieces Ben brought home look absolutely gorgeous. I’m sorry that your wedding cake top didn’t quite make it to your first anniversary.
I didn’t have a real wedding so my mother-in-law just ordered a cake from the Publix deli, only my in law’s side of the family (husband included) like that nasty whipped frosting. And that’s what she ordered. I love buttercream with an undying sort of love and was pretty disappointed. Clearly, nearly 14 years later I’m still not over it!

Congrats to all the winners. I was weirdly obsessed with cake walks as a kid and would have to keep going around until I won, lol.

I broke into the top layer of my wedding cake when I was 9mos pregnant. I was starving, it was 2am and it was delicious. Good thing I am not sentimental. Those cake pictures are making me drool right now.

Yay!! I won! I’m super excited! 🙂
For our wedding cake, the bakery promised us an anniversary cake instead of saving the top layer. Well, we had our wedding in my hometown in NC but live in NY and turns out they don’t ship their cakes! Fortunately, my husband was planning a visit to NC shortly before our anniversary and was able to pick the cake up and fly it back to NY with him. It was an absolutely delicious red velvet cake. Now it’s a tradition to eat red velvet cake on our anniversary. Yummiest tradition ever.
