Oh my gosh today was crazy! After my 7am client I considered working out, but decided to come home for breakfast instead. Best decision I ever made today.
Then, I headed back to work for 2 more sessions. I had a short break for lunch before I had to go to my mystery appointment and that’s what today’s confession is all about…
Confession #1: I never skip a meal. Nope. Not even when someone may or may not see my naked that day…
Confession #2: I took “romantic” photos today. There was a Groupon a while back and I thought it would be a great anniversary gift for Ben. The second anniversary is nekkid pics right?!
Let me say, this is super random and out of character so I feel really weird sharing this! But, the Groupon deal was a for a boudoir session and included make-up for super cheap! Ben always says, “You’ll be dead before you know it!”
So, I decided to go for it! Acts Of Beauty Photography is a boudoir photographer Edmonton.
Confession #3: I am considering posting the pics and renaming this site RER After Dark. I’m hoping there might be some people out there with a fetish for thick albino looking Mexican girls…
Confession #4: I just lied right there ^
Confession #5: I saw some of the pics and let’s just say – THANK GOD for Photoshop. It’s proof Jesus loves people with cellulite on their butts, thighs, everything.
Confession #6: I was starving and only grabbed veggies on the way back to work for my long evening session. The confession part of this = I hate people who are hungry and only eat veggies. WTF. 
Confession #7: Since I was only eating vegetables I justified getting a soda to go with it. Boo Monica, Boo.b
Confession #8: A lady gave me 5 bucks for taking a survey at the mall when I got the soda. I’m taking this as a sign of approval from above 🙂 
Confession #9: Since my healthy baked pumpkin bread was crappy I topped it with sunflower seed butter and chocolate. It’s still healthy right?!
Confession #10: Everyone wanted to know why I came to work with so much hooker make up on. I can’t keep a secret. I think I’m being judged. 
I am posting this despite the fact that it’s embarrassing to admit because ‘why the heck not?!’.
Part of me did this photo thing because my body is as good as it’s ever going to get and I want to preserve a memory before it all goes to shit. Another part of me did it for the chubby girl inside of me (and maybe you). Every girl deserves to feel pretty even with the help of photoshop. If I did this you can do it too 🙂

It is great you took the chance and did the shoot. I actually did one just a few months back right before my wedding. I wanted to give a book to my husband on our wedding day. It does take courage to do it but I thought it was fun after a little while. Ben will love it.
You look absolutely stunning – nothing like a hooker. ;D I always feel super awkward in front of a camera and admire those that can actually have fun with it. Go you and Ben will love it!

My friend does boudoir sessions and says that they are so fun to shoot because she can see the women getting more confident as the shoot goes on. You rock your hot self, Monica!
Awesome! That’s totally on my bucket list. I’m in the process of losing 100 pounds and I’m alllllmost there, and training for a marathon which is right before my bday. I figure, by the time I can run a marathon, that’s the best my body is EVER going to be, so I plan on giving myself nekkid pics for my bday to celebrate 🙂
So brave! I’m working on getting to a healthier weight right now, and I’ve thought about scheduling something like this a few months from now as encouragement to stay on track (kind of like signing up for a race keeps me running). haha

I did a boudoir photo shoot for my husband as his wedding present! I was terrified, but it went so much better than I thought. I think you’ll be surprised when you get the pics back, and discover you really like them 🙂 I also figured that I’m in about the best shape as I’ll ever be right now, so might as well! I thought it would be nice to look back on when I’m 60 lol.
What a fun post, Monica! I’ve been reading since I met you at HLS but have been falling short on the commenting lately – this post brought it out in me. 😉 I, too, think it’s a brave thing to do! Were the photographers women? That would help me. And I think it’s so neat that you didn’t wait until you felt you looking your “best” but realized that you’re beautiful and young and this is a great time to go for something like this! Way to go! I did a naughty picture session for my husband just before we got married – and he loved them. I was nervous at first, but it ended up feeling very liberating. I’m so glad I did it, and it gave me a lot of confidence.
I’m sure Ben will absolutely love them! Does he know, or is this a surprise? 🙂

I wanted to do a session for my husband before we got married, but didn’t because I didn’t feel completely comfortable. But I’m seriously considering doing it when I’m like 8 months pregnant. May seem weird, but I’ll only be pregnant once and I want to remember it.

I totally feel your sentiment about “you’re only going to look this way now” as a reason to go for the photos. I don’t know if I could pull off that look (I lack in some areas, ha ha!), but this is why I will insist on spending $$$ on wedding shots vs. on an actual wedding.

Monica! Doesn’t it feel great to celebrate your body and all the hard work you put into it!? I toootally would have jumped on that boudoir groupon too if I were you! I don’t think it is weird that you had boudoir photos done.. you go girl! At the hotel I used to work for we reserved boudoir photo sessions a couple times a month for this amazing photographer. They also did wedding shots in the lobby/lounge… LOVED all the work they did, just breathtaking stuff.
Did you do your own eye make-up?? Looks great! Did you tell your clients really why you were all done up?
I don’t understand why people JUST eat veggies when they are super hungry either… I am always hungry like 20 minutes after I eat JUST a salad or veggies…. But I do this too because I adore salads.. I always make sure to have back up emergency protein bars at my office and in my purse. I am totally a bag lady.

I would totally do it — not necessarily for Lucas, but for myself. It’s the same reason I love burlesque and pole dancing…it makes me feel super sexy, even when I’m not at my ideal weight or have been beating myself up for other stuff.
